Why would you pray for that...?? you ain't no Reidsville fan....I welcome a Reidsville/Shelby matchup................

He’s not a reidsville fan. I don’t think he likes Shelby either. Pretty sure he doesn’t want to compare teams.

Haven't heard much. Whos coming back? Whats the schedule look like?
Lost Hodge & Spellman to graduation. Spellman was DE, now at ODU. Hodge came in late and played QB, now at Randolph-Macon. Of course you got Freshwater coming back, only a junior. Most of the o-line is back. Riddick at RB. Schedule wise, got Manteo, Rose, Conley, Havelock, Rocky Mt, & Edenton

On another note, lil bro, “lil” because you’re younger. I told you a few months ago that I was trying to get into UFC more, and it’s really growing on me. But, ya boy Tyron Woodley disappointed me big time last night. I looked so forward to checking him out. He came out trying to be too cool and too pretty, and got his *** whipped. This was after he hyped himself up so much, as an all time great, in the pre fight.

You finally getting into ufc huh lol.

Yeah he’s looked like that a few fights. He’s a good fighter, but think he’s done as a top fighter.

Could West Stokes be back in the mix? Looks like they lose a few key seniors but also looks like they're very young.

He used to be the next big thing some years ago, but he's aging into retirement stage. Alot of the younger hungrier fighters are holding the belts. Check out Israel Adesanya(sp?). Lots of youtube highlights.

Always pray Shelby doesn't end up 2a because Shelby would beat Reidsville by double digits

Im sorry but it's Shelby that buses in Elementary school kids from across the county to boost their ADM number to play in the weak 2AA division and avoid the stronger, tougher 2A west.

Yes, indeed! We’re afraid of Brevard, West Stokes, and The Heritage as they call themselves, teams with little to no brothers or “athletes”, the code name that the media uses. Reidsville always has a tough row to hoe in the playoffs, no doubt.... murderers row. Anson County will give the Rams something different to look at, though. Literally!

Where were they in the lost to that “powerful“ West Stokes team last season? You have them in your top 10, but they lost to Randleman, too, an omission from your top 10.

randleman best player transferred to eastern Randolph he’s one the division one prospects

also eastern Randolph has one of the best coaches in the state in burton cates back. I need to amend my top 10 I do think anson should have been on it. If the west is like it was last year then I think eastern Randolph, reidsville and anson are the top 3.

Randleman lost their coach and best player, they maybe a sleeper though.

I remember E.Randolph being a power in 3A in the early 2000's. Although they took one on the chin from Crest in the championship, they had some solid teams with great win loss %.

I was too just to be honest. Think the thought of finally getting reidsville at home possibly caused a little looking ahead in our boys minds. They return most of an extremely tough defensive unit with some outstanding guys coming up from our Jv program. I think we will be in the hunt again this season.

heritage was banged up by playoff time

Yep, go walk the halls of Shelby High and you will see 4th graders all over the place. The kicker is most of them start for the football team and y'all still can't beat us.

The real kicker is you guys didnt start using 4th graders til 2016 to leave the "brutal 2A west" for the "easy 2AA" side of things. :)

Well we won 3 State 2A titles when we were in that classification and beat you guys badly twice enroute to the title game. So I think we added the 4th graders to go big to get into a little competition.

2013 was a beatdown....2014 it was 17-7.....don't think that qualifies as a beatdown.....it's all moot....the governor we got will probably nix high school football this year anyway....Panic Porn................................................

We didn’t get anything going offensively. We still had a chance in the 4th, I think an interception Late gave them a late field goal to seal it. I remember most of the Shelby guys giving us props for a defensive slug fest, the narrative has changed though. What a terrific defense Shelby had

SHELBY

Head Coach: Mike Wilbanks (2nd year).

2019 Record: 14-1

Conference: Southwestern 2A

Returning Starters: 9 (3 offense; 6 defense).

Returning Lettermen: 20

Key Returning Starters: Jack Hollifield, Sr., LB (6-3, 235); Malaki Hamrick, Jr., DE (6-4, 205); Santana Hopper, Jr., DE (6-3, 230); Tyler Arrington, Sr., CB (5-11, 170); Omar Phillips, Sr., RB (5-10, 200); Shayle Gash, Sr., OL (6-3, 270); Torrian Arrington, Sr., DB (6-0, 175); Jacari Shell, Sr., DB/WR (5-9, 150).

Key Returnees: N/A.

Key Newcomers: Sam Baldree, Jr., LB (6-0, 195); Deshawn Jones, So., ATH (5-9, 160); Demetrius Thompson, Jr., WR (5-10, 170).

Outlook: Shelby has averaged 14 wins per season over the last seven years with six 2AA state title in that span. This year, only nine starters return, including all-state senior LB Jack Hollifield (164 tackles last year), junior DEs Malaki Hamrick (19 sacks last year) and Santana Hopper, and DBs Torrian and Tyler Arrington returning. Shelby will have to reload on offense, where senior RB Omar Phillips (850 yards rushing last year) will have to play a big role.
