Kentucky would never recruit someone who can't jump over a piece of paper. Lol
lol Braden Smith MIGHT be able to get over a thin piece of paper but if it’s cardboard paper then I’m putting money on the paper.

Btw, and this is nothing personal to Jake but how did he land the girl in his profile pic? Gotta be money or meat.

If Smith wants to come here, I will take him any day of the week over Agbim at PG.

Agbim is the better athlete, but Smith is a winner. He has won NCAA tourney games, and played for a title last season.

I want winners.

See Lamont Butler today.

Smith is another Butler, when it comes to winning.
Smith is still playing at least one more week too.

I’m not living and dying with this recruiting stuff anymore.

1. We truly don’t know what these guys will do. AJD, the #1 player in the land, is going to BYU. The landscape has changed.

2. Mark Pope showed he can coach up players.

3. Who knows who transfers from our current team?

4. Some guys get their bag & think play like trash. See Hunter Dickinson & J. Davis (Arkansas, for much of the year).

Yes, I want some studs, but it’s too hard to predict nowadays. I’ll just wait for the boom.
Watching Chandler and TRENT FREAKING NOAH contribute meaningful minutes during a sweet 16 run is all I need to know lol.

Pope doesn't need generational talent to win here and he has more tools, support and options then he has ever had anywhere else in his coaching career.

The foundation Cal completely broke has been fixed

He probably feels the coaches are warm and not hot because he priced himself out of being a priority.

Isn't Thomas the 1 we are focusing on? How good is he? Saw that he averaged 15.6 points, 4.7 assists, the second best assist/turnover ratio in the conference and was their best player. Ironically a shoulder injury put him out late in the season. Two years left is a good thing. Anybody seen him play?

This blows. Obi is an athletic freak who put up very good numbers and shoots well. Think Fox but is also a very good 3pt shooter. His nearly 3 threes per game this year at 43%.

Going to be highly pissed if we don’t go after him and prioritize someone who can’t jump over a piece of paper or stay in front of a mailbox.
Fox with a jumper???
Yet he's not considered even a second round pick as a senior.
Not saying he's not a good player but he has to have some major holes in his game also .

Keep in mind it looks like pope wants tay kinney in next year's class. That way he and lewis can split up the pg minutes the following year. So he'll likely grab a pg with one year eligibility for next year. If agbim is only getting lukewarm contact with our coaches it could be because our pg interest is elsewhere, wink wink.

Randos shouldn't contact players. Players shouldn't respond to randos either.

Put me in the: Prefer Smith by a lot camp. Agbim a very good option if Smith doesn't come.

Let's not kid each other. Whoever shows this kid the biggest bag of money will most likely get his services.

Is it that way for every player? No. Is that way for most? Yes. Players are people, and people like money.

'Heavily involved with Dedan Thomas' to me means if he wants to come, he come. How quick is he and how good on defense is he? Everything else looks solid.

I wouldn’t message a player but I don’t think what he said was bad . It’s not like it was a negative message lol .

And he seems like he is young himself

Agbim/Oweh comparison. Alot of similarity in overall game. Oweh appears to be stronger by a bit, Agbim more reliable outside shooter and has the driving ability of Oweh. 41% deep shooter without the Oweh twitch. I definitely would want him especially if Oweh goes pro, but I am more interested in building a solid front Court

UK coaches have reached out to a few already actually.
No doubt they have and need to, but this thread was posted (and I responded) Sunday before the portal opened. And it's one thing to "reach out" and another to "match his energy" or whatever the poster said Obi told him

Well he is in college, grown adult. Not my thing neither, but know what you are talking about before calling out someone.
Yep…and I responded a few messages later that it’s weird messaging college kids on social media too.
