Potential STC Candidate..?

Anybody hear the name Chris Demarest come up in the rumor mill at all? Given the all-NJ staff movement, this guy seems like a no-brainer and would be the icing on the proverbial cake after an AC/DC lock down, IMO. Jersey guy, former RU coach (04-08) with GS ties, extensive 20-year coaching resume and impressive ST production at Hawai'i the last few seasons..

I don't think he's been at Hawaii for awhile. I think he's a t East Stroudsburg now. Last I heard (a couple years ago) he was part of a group trying to start an IMG-type academy in NJ....

He hasn't worked with GS since. I don't see it happening..

and to my other reply he was at ESU before HI. I had it the wrong way.

Greg Schiano has two spots left to fill on his Rutgers coaching staff, but things may be close.

The Scarlet Knights’ head coach confirmed he has hired eight of his allotted 10 on-field assistants (seven have been announced by the school with linebackers coach Bob Fraser still to come) at halftime of Tuesday night’s men’s basketball game against No. 20 Penn State at the RAC in Piscataway.

Val Barnaby would be a good choice. Rutgers 2002-2006, played in the NFL, runs a tremendous S&C facility now in Tinton Falls.

Thinking that if AC is hired, he'll also coach LB's, then Nunzio will do Special Teams and Fraser will be a defensive QC coach where he won't have to go out to recruit.
Not that he was a bad recruiter, but everyone else is younger then him and Fraser could also help AC with game plannning.

In November, municipal prosecutor Steven C. Rubin agreed to a deal in which the charge would be dropped if Demarest, 42, successfully completed counseling.

Demarest was arrested last July following an incident involving him and his girlfriend at Le Club @ Avenue in Long Branch. Rubin said in November he saw no need to pursue the assault charge because the incident was more of an argument than a physical assault.

yelling at your girlfriend in front of an undercover cop when she ran up a $1200 bar tab.

If you think those are any way similar, the problem isn't with Demarest or Rice.

Not gonna happen Although never enough to bring him down he has way to many skeletons in his closet

Years ago when Demo coached under head coach Kevin Higgins and Lehigh football had a nationally-significant team at the Div-1AA level, the Lehigh players loved the guy.

This comes up every so often when there's an open position on the staff. And every time it does it has to be reiterated that the guy is just never going to get a job here again. Not only did he get in trouble here, but he also got in trouble at his stops after Rutgers.

Greg said at the basketball game that eight of the ten have been hired, that would include Fraser.
