just genuinely interested,

Not sure if it’s been addressed or not, but what’s going on with Prairie Ridge. 0-4 and the conference as a whole sub Huntley seems very down. Usually has 2-3 top tier teams.

Fox Valley is getting better... In 5+ years it should be one of the best conferences. It sorta was like the Big Ten was years ago with Ohio St and Michigan... You had Cary Grove and Prairie Ridge and the little sisters now there are 6 teams that can win on any Friday.

Probably many different things. Could be that the new coaching change in 2024 is having some effect. It’s also a public school and the talent level is going to me more variable. It’s very rare to get players like Samson Evans in the building who can take the program to a completely different level.

Maybe in conference but the playoffs will tell. Still need a team outside of PR and CG that can do something in playoffs other than win a game. Central got two wins last year in playoffs so that is a start.

I watched Jacobs play against Prairie Ridge and it was a game until the second half... Prairie Ridge competition, so far, is 10-5. What does that mean in a closed conference? But you are spot on as to how the Fox Valley does in the playoffs.. Sorry for the size... I can handle nukes but I am terrible with computer tech..
With the expanded playoffs, and depending how they seed each class this season, I can see 7+ teams making it into the playoffs from the Fox...the worst scenario would be Fox Valley teams meeting in the first round... We will see

The conference has some issues, all the D155 Schools, Crystal Lake Central, South, PR and CG all are way down in enrollments, and Huntley, Burlington Central, and Hampshire are all considerably bigger. If you consolidated the 4 155 schools, into 3, they still would be in the smaller end of the conference.
PR has had some great talent, but this year they seem to be lacking, in talent and discipline. We will see what they do the rest of the year.

CG is really young, starting backfield is a JR QB and 3 Sophomores, but they are all talented, and I look for continued improvement. This week against Huntley will be telling.

You have 5 school below 2000 and 5 schools above 2000.

Burlington Central is a little bigger than the D155 schools but yes, Huntley and Hampshire are sizably larger.

I know this is focused on Football, but it really affects the other sports, where they just have such a larger talent pool to draw from.
