I thought I found the safest place when I moved to SE Idaho. No problems for 22 years, but we've all the sudden had a swarm of 200 (and counting) earthquakes in the area since last Saturday night. Nothing major yet (largest was a 5.3), but the near constant minor rumbling is unsettling.

Of course, if Yellowstone blows I'll be buried in ash, and the rest of the country will be screwed too.

Amazingly Sarasota and Tampa area have been a refuge from hurricanes for quite awhile. I lived off Bee Ridge back in the day. Boring place but absolutely gorgeous! Stay safe!

Theres been earthquake swarms around Yellowstone for the last few years I believe. That's definitely not a good sign, the lava is probably building up and expanding. Hopefully it doesn't blow for a long long time but its probably due

Most of the country will be screwed when it does.

It would easily be the worst natural disaster in American history. It would potentially wipe out two-thirds of the country. Millions would probably die. And those who don't die will suffer from it in some way. Hope I'm long gone in the dirt before that happens.

From what I understand the NE quadrant of the hurricane is where the heaviest winds are.

Landfall in the Everglades would be best case scenario IMO. That's what this looks like. Key West is done for though. This announcement came out about KW:

He's not wrong. This storm is capable of wiping the Keys off the map. Their only protection is the Mangroves. Hope it's not as bad as expected and I sincerely hope no one thinks it's even remotely smart to try to ride this out down there.

I've been writing to Rick Scott about solar powered water cooling around florida. Get the waters down to 45 degree. Maybe he will take me serious

Me and the wife were laughing pretty hard watching him. That moment when you feel awful for laughing at a very tough situation but that dude was on a roll.

Damn wish it would stay a 3 now but that's very unlikely.

The big problem for us now is getting the full brunt of the storm which is always the north east side. F

wow it looks now like Sarasota/Tampa could get hit...oops. Miami has gotta be breathing a sigh of relief though.

Keys gonna get bent over. Praying for the best, one of my favorite places to visit.

There wastewater disposal from fracking in the area?

As for Florida, some family just got back. They bought a small place in a 55+ near Bradenton 6 months ago, hope it's still there after this. His neighbors are staying, no way I would in a cracker jack box.
