I've been a long time viewer of the message boards but wanted to create an account so I could write to you nickris. Just wanted to let you know I'm praying for you. Me and my wife lost our daughter this year after 8 days with her. I know you don't know me but I know what your going through and would love to help in anyway I can. So happy for the good news and will continue to pray for Dani. Look forward to more positive updates!
Tepgram I feel so honored !!! Thank you so much for the kind words my friend. I am also sorry for your lose. NO parent should have to go through this. Prayers are all we ask for and we will say a prayer for your family also. I just read this to my wife and it made her cry but in a good way. I have read all of these post to her she wants me to tell you all thank you so much for the kind words and prayers. I will update you on her progress soon. GO DUKE.
I forgot to mention she is not in the NICU dept anymore. She has been moved up to the 7th floor which means the next step is coming home. She is doing everything she is supposed to be doing. They are training her stomach to be able to take full bottles and getting her to be able to breath without the cannula and after that she should be able to come home.
Well fellas, looks like we will FINALLY be able to bring our little girl home and on Christmas Day for that fact! What better present could I ask for. Thank you guys for all the well wishes and prayers. Can't forget..... GO DUKE!!!
Well I have to report that she had a Brady today which means her heart rate dipped down below where the Dr's don't like so it means the clock starts over. She has to go 5 days in a row without a Brady. She was at 3 days going strong and it happened while they had her in a swing and she was sleeping. We may get her home on the 27th now if she doesn't have anymore. Please say a prayer for us fellas. This has been a long journey for my wife and I and we just want our baby home. I hope everyone has a great Christmas and Happy new year.
Still praying and thinking of you. I know the Lord has big plans for her and wouldn't give you anything you can't handle. May you have a blessed Christmas and can't wait to hear the good news when you bring her home.
my little girl IS coming home for Christmas!!! Oh man what a feeling. I am so overjoyed at this moment. The Dr came and told us she looks good and everything has checked out well. So I get the best present ever tomorrow. This has been a long journey. I have been going to the hospital 2 to 3 times a day since June. I have spent countless hours sitting in that place and I would do it again. God is good!!! Merry Christmas fellas and GO DUKE!!!
God is Amazing!!!!! Great news!!! I hope you have an an amazing Christmas with her and your wife. She is destined to do great and wonderful things. Go Duke!!!

This will be a wonderful Christmas memory for you guys. I can only imagine the struggle you guys have endured. Now you can move on to the next chapter and regain some sort of normalcy in your lives. I am happy for you.

I know all the talk has been about Bolden and the recruits we have coming in next year but I figured I could switch it up for a moment. I just wanted to let you guys know Dani is doing very well. She is now up to 17.9 pounds and 26 inches long. That's a huge difference from 1.6 pounds when she was born. I wish I knew how to post a pic of her so you could see how well she has come along. I posted this because I figured some of wanted to know how she is progressing. We came home with all of this equipment for her heart and lungs. Well now we are down to just 1 monitor which keeps up with her breathing and that will be the last thing. She is still on a very small amount of oxygen and she will probably be on that for about another year. I will take that for someone who was not supposed to even make it. I just wish her sister would have made it but god had other plans for her.
