Thought this would be a good thread for anyone who needs prayer for anything. I know @SoCal_Dukie3 has testing tomorrow, @germantondevil and @tate12 both need prayers. Anyone else who has a need can post here also.
I don't usually like to contribute to these threads as a personal preference, and I definitely don't usually like to bring my baggage here as this is where I go to get away from it, but I think it's a great thread. I went back and forth in my head a lot before posting this.
I want to tell everyone going through something this year that I know how you feel. I haven't told anyone here this, but I actually lost my oldest sibling on January 2 of this year, so the year started with a bang. It was flu that morphed into pneumonia that did her in. She didn't like doctors so didn't see one until it was too late. That explains why I've been a little chippy on here lately. I've been working my main job, holding elective office as a second job, and taking care of my parents (I'm the only of 3 remaining children that lives within 150 miles of here) as well, so it's been a long, exhausting year so far.
Like said in another thread, it provides perspective (which I think I already had, but maybe not like this). I see posters going after kids and just think that life is too short for that kind of thing. It's college basketball after all.
Just out of curiosity what are you elected as?
Your going to love being a father, nothing betterMy wife will be giving birth to our first child this month. Praying both have a smooth delivery and good health.

We are all human and face pain, disappointment, and heart aches throughout life, and we all need encouragement, prayer, and love. I've have been so blessed throughout my life to have a loving family, especially my mother, so many Godly men that have been an encouragement to me throughout my life, so many friends that are more like brothers, an absolutley incredibly loving wife and so coming son. Dad2ze and I have been like brothers for about 28 years now which is pretty amazing. I enjoy the company of this board and having a place to root for my Devils together.
Wonderful post. I feel we have our on brotherhood and sisterhood on this board. It's something special about the posters here. I'm not saying we agree with everyone and there are some personality issues but I really think we care about what goes here. We have a lot of passionate people here and I love the comradely we have. Yep. Me!Sisterhood? There are more women here than just @HonkeyT ???
Crazie we have shared some pretty amazing times together. I couldn’t ask for a better friend. We’ve had many ups, a few downs, but I couldn’t ask for a better friend. We don’t see each other as much as we’d like but I know we would be there for each other with just a phone call. Glad to have met some many cool people on this board and getting to know them through social media which is pretty awesome. I have an amazing church family that I wish I would’ve found years ago. To the rest of you Blue Devils I hope to get to know each of you more and more. It’s amazong when you have total strangers donate money to help find a cure for my daughter and her disease. You guys truly are the best around. We are all human and face pain, disappointment, and heart aches throughout life, and we all need encouragement, prayer, and love. I'm not sure if this will be allowed in this thread but I'd like to ask you all to send some prayers to the families and friends of the victims of the Humboldt hockey tragedy. It's horrible what happened there, it really is.

Thank you. And you’re still in mine. Stay strong, buddy.Beard I hope your co-worker beats this horrible sickness and know prayers will be many.

@dbav just noticed your post. Hope you’re hanging in there. Sibling losses are gut punches, especially when you were tight growing up. All you can do is honor them day to day with your own actions. Be the man that would make them proud.

Damn man, I think this is only the second time my eyes got wet on DI. The first time was of course when we missed on John Riek. Thanks guys. It's been a weird year, but I think we are on the uptick. We got the final autopsy results (flu that turned into pneumonia), we are done at her house, and we got through our first big holiday without her. Still a bit weird though. She was my movie buddy and a huge Yankees fan, so I keep wanting to shoot her a text before I remember what happened.
Things are getting better.
