Most stats says Salem wins by 14. However, this year's Spartan defense has given up some big plays for tds. These big plays have been both through the air and some gashing runs. Over the past three years only Lake Taylor and William Byrd have been able to slow Salem's offense. Salem can hurt you on the ground and the air. That has been their secret to their offensive success--balance. However, they have not been a dominant defense except for the second half of the year during their championship run. That's what's been missing so far this year---a dominant defense. The game against PH will be a great measuring stick for how far the Spartans have come since the first two weeks of the season. If the Spartans handle PH easily that might point to the Spartans making another playoff run. If not, oh well, theirs always next year.
