Okay, check you agendas before entering this thread and give your prediction and analysis for the season.
Here is mine.
First, our defense will be much better this year but we are still playing some great offenses in this conference and they will not be surprised by our attacking strategy this year. Expect a solid performance from the defense, but they will get burned here or there.
On offense, there will be some surprises this year (at least for the 90% of our fans who don't listen to what the coach says). I expect this year's offense to have MUCH more triple option flavor to it. Expect to see Skylar lined up at QB with Crest lined up as a RB a lot and we (& the opponents) will have no idea who is getting the ball. With Crest in the slot, expect him to motion in a lot and may get the football and throw often. If the pass is not there, he will be running and do some serious damage. Yes we will still run the slant and all of the pass plays, but this offense will be much more run option oriented than in the past.
I expect or offense to be shockingly good to the country and to most of the people on this board. I also expect our special teams to finally be a strength and not just because of kicking. We finally have the depth to field a strong special teams squad.
So here is what I predict. Including our bowl, I am predicting a 9-4 finish. That will be an excellent result given our competition. I come to this is by selecting 3 caregories;
1. Games we should win
2. Games we should lose
3. The rest - not predicting wins and loses for this group, just that we will win our share of these games.
I'm sure that some in here will think that I am crazy putting TCU in the toss up category, but these two teams play very close and usually win or lose this game in one play. Putting them in the "toss up" category is easy.
Games that we should win:
Ga Southern
Liberty
Maryland
Texas Tech
Kansas
Iowa State
Games that we should lose;
Baylor
Oklahoma
Games that are close enough to be called toss ups - we win 2 & lose 2:
TCU
Oklahoma State
Texas
Kansas State
