Totally agree!!Brown will win at least 9 games next year and will have us competing for Big 12 Championship within the next 2- 3 years,
Could happen.
I think if the issues were defense or QB and not OLine you would be right but OL takes times to develop.
Could happen sometime next year when all clicks in but without it happening this year and your tough schedule I say 7
Would Rick Trickett come in as special adviser for the OL and Barwis for strength training for them. Hope they get some nastiness in the offseason.
I said 5-7 this year, with an optimistic shot at 8. With a win over TCU I would be within my mark. With a lucky break here or there against Baylor and Ok State, it could have been the higher end of the mark, but it didn’t go that way.
Next year I say possible wins (which include metrics such as location of game, returning starters and performances this year) could be:
- Florida State (they have talent, coaching will determine this one)
- Eastern Kentucky (mortal lock for the win)
- Maryland (in Morgantown, Maryland is not good)
- Kansas State (in Morgantown, should make it 5 in a row but a tough out nonetheless)
- Texas Tech (Everything that could have gone wrong in the first half this year did, WVU has overall better talent, this game will be circled by WVU)
- TCU (tough call on this one until I see them play this year, but I give the edge to WVU in Morgantown)
- Kansas (in Morgantown... even their basketball team struggles in Morgantown... it’s Kansas)
- Baylor ( don’t think we will see a repeat performance of this years version of Baylor next season, in Morgantown could make the difference, and this game too will be circled)
- Iowa State (I don’t believe Campbell will be in Ames next season, and eventually ISU is gonna be ISU)
Texas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are always gonna have enough talent to beat you, so those are games I think are winnable in a given year, Oklahoma more-so than usual next year because they don’t have a set QB yet, but they are still Oklahoma... and Texas and Oklahoma State.
It could all blow up in my face, but I do believe there will be improvement in the win/loss column next year.
I will say 7-9 wins, give or take a bowl game.

Both Baylor and Iowa State return QBs
I don't know returning starters for all the teams.
I just think a 5 win turnaround with JUCO OL will be hard.
The chance that you find 2-3 JUCO OL ready to play in the Big 12 is slim.
I do think you could start to see a turnaround next year and could finish strong.
WHOA!!! That's just not a fair prediction. I hope to hell you are right BUT it's only his second year. I have no doubt we'll get there but expecting it in second might be a little premature IMHOBrown will win at least 9 games next year and will have us competing for Big 12 Championship within the next 2- 3 years,
That is why I think the games being in Morgantown will be significant, plus we will have a returning QB and the coaching staff will have an off-season with the team where they aren’t teaching the team how they want their offseason to go. The process is established, so now they can focus on the actual work. Everyone knows everyone now, unlike last offseason when everyone was trying to figure out who each other were.
As for Baylor, in Waco with a team that is playing for the conference championship, they beat us by 3. We had 347 sacks against their offensive line. If we generate any kind of offense in that game, we win. But, we didn’t and we didn’t.
I am not worried about Baylor. We match up well with them and we should be better next year. Not sure they are gonna improve much over this year. We have nothing but room for improvement.
As for ISU, they were only up by 7 going into the 4th, and it was tied at the end of 2. We did more to blow the game up for ISU in the 4th than they did.
We might lose to both schools next year, but we will have an experienced set of receivers and 2 QBs with starting experience and a more experienced defense, on top of playing in Morgantown, so I think the odds will favor us next year.

I hope your wrong and he gets the O line figured out but it usually does take a couple years to fix an O line.5 to 7. We still have a no line issue.

Baylor and Iowa State are the two most physical teams in the Big 12 this year
Players leave and sometimes programs take a drop but their level may take Neal Brown another year to reach.
Maybe Matt Rhule goes to the Washington Redskins. Who knows right now. He could be looking towards the NFL.
Matt Campbell may end up at Florida St. Rumor there is mutual interest
As of right now both coaches are still there and you don't expect them to drop until the second year after a coach leaves

Just a couple of comments. Don’t think we got 347 sacks on Baylor. Don’t think we will have 2 experienced QBs next year. It would surprise me if AK did not portal upon loosing the QB battle to Doege. Which I already think has happened.
Let’s be honest, you are going to poor mouth WVU No matter what the circumstances.
That out of the way...
Neither one “out-physicalled” WVU, so if they are the barometer for toughness in the B12, the conference really is in trouble, and the path to redemption for WVU will be even easier.

I think we will win 7-8 games next year. The O line will be the weakest part of the team just like this year but they will be more experienced. If brown and staff are selecting the right personal then I think we could see a major up tick in 2021.
