What are we thinking? One? Both play? Neither?

I am going to be concerned if neither play until the Louisville game.

They both practiced. At least one plays. If i had to predict, i say Lowe plays. Wouldn’t surprise me if both play though.

I think both play. I’m still not even sure what happened with DA. Weird situation for a guy that I don’t think got hurt a single time all last season.

I don't want to see Lowe out there until he's 100 percent.
90 percent? Heck no.

Hope Aberdeen plays. We ::should:: be able to roll tonight even if both are out, but as bad as we looked against Georgetown, who knows?

Anyone who watched the BW game knows Lowe’s “injury” was a non contact one…

How does a young healthy athlete miss 3+ weeks from a NON CONTACT injury?

A big fat NIL bag, that’s how!

Already tired of this new normal at UK!
Non contact or contact doesn't matter for the injury. Your post makes no sense.

Heck, let’s go ahead and fast forward a bit…

Who’s going down with a season ending injury before, or during, the 9th game of the season?

It’s a coin toss for me, and I could see it happening to a couple of players to be honest.

If I punch you in the face, meaning CONTACT, there’s going to be more of an “injury” to your face, than if I didn’t punch you in the face, meaning NON CONTACT!

Understand now? Dudes are sandbagging because there’s no consequences for not playing!

I have it on good authority, and I’m waiting to confirm, that JQ, Aberdeen, and Lowe are shutting it down for the season. Apparently scouts liked what they saw at pro day so the players heard what they needed to hear. Again, waiting to confirm, but a VERY reliable source.

Denzel would have been a great Equalizer against Georgetown. Hopefully he had a great Training Day yesterday and plays like a Man on Fire tonight.

That makes zero sense. Plenty of players suffer season ending injuries with no contact. They can land awkwardly and tear Achilles tendons, ACL's, etc.

Kevin Ware for Louisville landed awkwardly and his leg broke and fell off on national TV. There was no contact at all.

Man, your analogy has zero correlation with your original post about timeline for a contact vs non-contact injury.

For example, athletes blow out the ACL or achilles as non-contact injuries all the time. According to your post, an injury that severe should NOT happen b/c it's non-contact. However, your post states if you punched them in the face, the player would be out longer than recovering from a soft tissue tear that requires surgery? Makes no sense.

Before you get off track as far as the specifics for Lowe, no one is saying he had a tear of a ligament or tendon, and I'm not saying it isn't a bummer that players are out with injuries... I'm just illustrating the point that just b/c an injury is non-contact doesn't mean the player automatically comes back sooner.

You really aren't smart. Actually, non-contact injuries in sports are normally more severe.

Perhaps with your example, you are confusing visual injuries with those that are not visible, such as ligaments and joints.

I had that thought but I think the GU loss woke these guys up. They won't let it happen again
Hopefully it got their attention, and the staff will adjust our offensive schemes when other teams keep switching on the wings and clogs up the lane to stop penetration.

Honestly, part of that is still on the players as well... even against GU, a lot of the time, the wing players looked totally out of sync with their movements... 2 guys moving toward the same off-ball screen, the wrong not back cutting, or when they did cut, it was lazy and more easily allowed the GU defenders to hold them without being called for fouls.

Pope has said it a ton of times, and he is right, if the players are going to cut, they must do it with force and at 100% speed. Then, if the defender holds them, it's more obvious, and the fouls can be called.

Preventing that alone will help with floor spacing and ball movement. Now, that being said, this team still REALLY needs their top 2 PGs back AND they need Jasper to come along as another option. He has the quickness and ball handling ability, but he just needs to play within the offense a little more.

If you watched the Blue/White game you'd see Oweh make CONTACT with Lowe. You'd then see Lowe's entire body flopping and writhing in pain, except for his arm that was lying limp because it had been (we now know) partially dislocated by the CONTACT with Oweh. You must be trolling.

Look at last year, we are in an era that if a player has a stubbed finger, he’s out instantly, sore calf, hamstring, etc. he’s out.
Specifically which of our players last year are you accusing of sitting out when they didn't need to? Kerr who broke his foot? Carr who missed only one game and clearly played through pain? Robinson who tried to play through the injury before needing surgery? Or Butler who played through injury?

Ever wonder if some people actually believe the crap they post? Frightening thought.

Just taze them suckers if they don’t play. Who cares if there is a bone or two stickin out. Am I right?

There is a bunch of bones in the foot. I mean one bone? Still 95% effective. A real man can drop a ligament or two and just keep going. We got lots a ligaments. Rub some dirt on it and get’er done.
