Now that the brackets are squared away and playoffs are set to begin this Friday, lets here where the fellow posters are coming from. New predictions for the 2A and 2AA State Title games?

I wouldn't sleep on the Stallions in the 2A east, not sure if we have quite enough to make it to the big one but I think we can make a strong push for it if we play how we played Friday night! But boy how awesome would it be to have a Shelby-Clinton matchup for the title!
Oh how I wish we were 2A (just to play one particular team)....
2AA Shelby vs. Clinton
2A Lincolnton vs. Northeastern
2AA Shelby vs. Clinton

Geez, listen this thing is Shelby and Reidsville unless someone can pull off an upset. These two teams are unbelievably loaded and the favorites. And that's not saying that Lincolnton, Clinton, East Lincoln and a few others are absolutely loaded as well. Those two are just at the top and will be there when all is said and done unless someone can pull the upset.
Dec. 23rd (this year it would be really late because of the hurricane) the A winner plays at the AA for all classes. Next year, the AA plays at the A the Friday after the championship games....that'd be awesome....and some huge gates!
Clinton has to take care of business first each game to even ensure a state championship birth. I've always said though I thought if the NCHSAA Is all about money then why not add one more game and let the winners of the each class battle for the true title. That way if Shelby or Clinton wins they would then have to beat Reidsville (most likely) for the true 2A title.
Back in the day the higher seed hosted the state championship. My dad told me about when Clinton played back in 77' at Pisgah for the state championship.
It was seventy six and Pisgah won.The year before Pisgah had to go to Havelock and won.Still wish they had it that way .It wasn't the higher seed, they rotated each year east to west.Have been to several of the state playoffs since.Just not the same in those big stadiums with empty seats.
My apologies Pisgah. Dad graduated in 77' just assumed. Also assumed it was higher seed. Guess I should've paid more attention than more than it was at pisgah and for the title lol.
If Holmes win Friday do they get another home game since they are tri-conference champions? Thanks.
