Ok folks let's hear those predictions for this weekend. No downing or arguing please. Score and winner. Can't wait. I am going to watch the Blues take on Hurley.
Not familiar with those teams sorry.
I agree..riverheads is head and shoulders above almost every team around...if they could throw as good as they run..it's lights out for everyone...but when you can run the ball like they do..no need to passYou must not be too familiar with Riverheads if you picked Essex to beat them. I'm being a smart a$$ I know but if you live in the BV or Rockbridge Co. area and pick against Riverheads you must have an ax to grind or you just haven't seen them. I think only Galax has a chance to play a close game with them and I wouldn't have thought that if Galax hadn't done it last year.
To anyone giving us a pass against Essex, you obviously don't pay attention. Essex is a very good team that played a murderers row of very good out of conference competition. Also the *** clowns that throw out ridiculous scores to argue over are just about as bad. I will piss in some bodies corn flakes and say again as in the game with Stuart's Draft a couple of weeks ago, the first team to 20 wins. If Riverheads gives up 33 I would literally be shocked to death. I also do not think Essex will give up many points so look for a 20-13 RedPride win.
The GW score is close but PH won't get much more than a meaningless TD late with all due respect. Humphfrey is a stud but too much of a talent difference between these teams.
Altavista/Lunenburg is tough even looking at the earlier game. I say that one is a tossup and the team with the ball last wins.
Galax will control the game and work on depth as good teams do in the playoffs when possible.
FC should win but from the info gathered on here that are a Jekyl and Hyde team so it depends on which one shows up because Chillhowie should compete
Colonia Beach should win based on the talk through out the year on here but a turnover here or there and it's an upset in the making.
Now to the two that I think are more interesting for me.
PM/Hurley on paper seems like a very good game and one I would love to see. I can't say that I have ever looked at Hurely but I gotta go with PM pulling off a upset at the"Cliff" with a little trickeration late. I could be dead wrong and Hurley may come out and smash the Blues but I just got a feeling about this Blues team. PM in a nail biter.
Luray/Sussex is setting up to be trap game if any of the Sussex team takes on the attitude of some of the posters on here. ( I realize the one guy is a Franklin fan that talks without truly knowing). Luray will play fundamental football amd methodically wear on you until you make mistakes. If Sussex plays mistake free they win easily BUT if they turn it over or special teams play is sub par it could be an upset. Going with Luray to shock the world.

Riverheads had one bounce their way too as there was a clear fumble and recovery by Covington, that the ref gave to Riverheads.. It was a much closer game than 42-14 for a neutral observerThat Covington game had two freak plays within 90 seconds of each other in which the ball just bounced right into the hands of a defender who had clear sailing to the end zone. I know the final score is what it is in any game, but if you take away those two scores, Riverheads wins that one 42-14, or an average night of business for the Big Red.
I'm not sure if my reply to longtimer came across as 'hating' on anyone but unintentional if so. I had a really clear view of that fumble, as I was actually in the bleachers on the Riverheads side and looked over to a friend of mine (whose son is on the team and I was coming to see play) and we both nodded in agreement that Big Red got away with one on that play. Don't let my allegiance to R E Lee fool ya, I typically pull for all the local schools. Now that my kids are out of school, I don't go to every Lee game, I'm all over the place checking games out anymore. As always, thanks for your support Keith_Stone. You just have a whole case of haterade you chugging on, lol.

Who from Sussex was talking? What attitude did we show other than the utmost respect? It was only Franklin talking and probably bc of the respect we have for each other. We are taking Luray very seriously...you dont think we were at that Northumberland game last Friday? We saw 1st hand them upsetting a good...a fast Northumberland team. Luray is faster than folks think and physical plus they are very well coached...Sussex is down after losing Hill but they are still a really good team. Please dont think for one second that the coaches and kids arent gonna be prepared. One thing about about Sussex is this...it doesnt matter how big you are...we are gonna hit you frequently. Luray better have their equipment strapped all the way up!! Im not predicting a win but I'm predicting some hitting. The one thing Northumberland didnt have is that physical play...Sussex isnt just speed...we grow up with this mindset passed down through the years that if you are not a hitter then you're soft. You can ask Sel2. When camp starts if your mind isnt ready for it...you quit. The hardest Ive ever been hit was in practice. If Luray isnt ready which i believe they will be BUT if they arent they will quit.To anyone giving us a pass against Essex, you obviously don't pay attention. oh nothing personal was taken Sussex just has a bad reputation and im noticing its not the Sussex folks talking its other people. I totally agree if we fall asleep we are in trouble but i wouldnt call it an upset because Luray is good.Dtayl6, I realize you have been nothing but respectful but the Franklin guy and a couple others just like to stir stuff up. I stated if the players took on the attitude of some of the posters as there a couple more that just think athleticism wins then it could be an upset. Nothing personal at all in my statement directed at you or several other Far East posters or teams. It will be settled on the field tonight and we can come back and argue tomorrow about it, lol. At this point, any team can get beat as everyone left is good in their own rights. Good luck tonight and eight more teams in 1A will start basketball after this week, hopefully the red team is not one of them.
