Rosman upset the Elks in the playoffs, not too long ago if I'm not mistaken.
Rosman has never lost to elkin if my memory is correct.

Just because Elkin beat East Wilkes doesnt suddenly make them world beaters, they were a .500 for a reason. They may well blow Hayesville out, but if the Jackets come to play I wouldnt count on it.

Way to keep it classy there dablue. I think Hayesville is just happy to sneak into the playoffs. On paper the Elks should win this one at home. However, I can remember an Elks vs. Jackets matchup that didn't exactly go as it should have on paper. That's why they play the game!!!

Rarely post... But Hayesville and Elkin do have quite a bit of playoff history. I believe Elkin had a last second win in Hayesville in 2002 that kick-started their run of 4 titles in 5 years.
And what does that have to do with price of rice in China? Yes Murphy lost a close game to a long time rival in Swain, whom Murphy never beats at Swain (last won there in 2005) Murphy has had two teams to go on to win state that lost at Swain. Tells absolutely nothing that Murphy lost at Swain. As far as Franklin goes, they're a damn good team, undefeated 2AA squad and Murphy gave em all they wanted (winning that game going into the 4th Q and out gained Franklin in total yards for the game).
The reason I comment on your posts is because you make definitive statements about teams you know absolutely nothing about. Like saying so and so would beat Murphy by so and so margin (or other SMC teams by whatever margin) and that nobody cares about potentially playing Murphy on their home field early in the playoffs, yada yada.
Keep believing them lies you're telling yourself man, no high seed in the 1AA west wants see Murphy coming to their field in round 2/3. I guarantee you when North Stanly won the YVC they never thought they would potentially have to play a team as good as Murphy on their turf in round 2, and I can assure you they aren't thrilled about it.
And before you go in about me saying Murphy and Mt Airy would kill East Wilkes, that was only after you had to throw your two cents in about Mt Airy "rolling" Murphy if they played, a laughable statement. I respect East Wilkes program turn around in recent years, I'm sure if they played to their ability level that they could give Murphy and Mt Airy all they wanted.
But the fact remains, nobody in the 1AA west is "rolling" Murphy this year. 'Dogs may well get beat by a Mt Airy or a N Stanly, heck they might even lose 1st round, but they aren't getting rolled. Too talented and too well coached for that to happen.

Been watching high school football a many a years, i cant imagine any team wanting to see a team out of the smc on their side of the bracket. Much respect from a bear fan here, i will guarentee you that north stanley hadnt been hit like they will get hit when murphy comes to town. We pay very close attention to the smokey mountain conference here in the granite city. Also hope reid is healthy for east wilkes, would love to see the much improved cardinal team from pilot mtn and the cards of ronda hook up one more time.
Never know. N.Stanly might be just what the Dr. ordered. I respect the SMC. However, people tend to think that they (smc) doesn't put their pants on, one leg at a time like everybody else does. I don't see N.Stanly beating Murphy for the record. Just here to say that the SMC is made up of human beings, not bionic men. Good luck to them. SMC plays a super hard nosed brand of football. I'm smart enough to acknowledge that.
Murphy has South Stanly to focus on first, but if a North Stanly - Murphy matchup comes to pass I know it will be a heck of a game, North Stanly on paper would be the best team Murphy has played this season besides Franklin.
EW defense has definitely got to fix a few things. Good thing in playing WC at the end of the year was, that EW got to see more speed than they will see in the 1aa playoffs. Lol. We didn't deal with it as well as we should have. EW has a good coaching staff. I'm sure they will regroup and have the Cards ready for the winner of ES/Starmount.
I'm as cool as a cucumber, this is just good entertainment for me, much more important things in my life than football, my 7 month old son chief among them. But I do enjoy the back and forth on here, good distraction after a long week at work.
Good luck to East Wilkes, hopefully Murphy and the Ronda Redbirds can hook up for a game in a couple of weeks.

If East Wilkes gets back to playing at the level they were at a month ago you guys will be more than a handful for anyone in the 1AA west.

WC is very similar to Mt Airy and Murphy in their ability to throw the ball down field and run. I think that will defintley help prepare EW.

Rosman defeated TJCA 26-14 during one heck of a gale (I told our videographer at the time it was as if the game was played in stage 2-1 of Super Mario Bros Wii), then went up to Elkin the next Friday and won 27-3.
