Let all the Prep Bowl haters get mad as the 4-6 St Rita Mustangs will get yet another week of Practice but have a bye this week.St Rita will play the artist formerly known as Gordon tech(DePaul College Prep) vs St.Iggy winner.Not sure when they are playing this week but next week they will get even more practice lol.Also not sure on the City Playoff Pairings this week.Curie,North Lawndale,Hubbard and Morgan Park are in the mix

I believe that if any original CCL members move on in the state playoffs this week then they are no longer eligible to go back to the Prep Bowl playoffs and St. Rita could be in the Prep Bowl championship with a victory over the Iggys/DePaul winner (and be in the game with a 5-6 record). So Rice, Loyola, Mt. Carmel, St. Laurence all have at least two games in their season no matter what.

Next week will be the quarterfinals for the state playoffs.so Rita will be vs iggy/depaul.if nobody got knocked out this week they would have to wait until the quarters to see if anyone got knocked out.say mt carmel and st laurence both did.laurence would not go and carmel would because they play in the tougher conference
They should have a variation of the old Big Ten tiebreaker rule which gave primacy to whichever team had the longer absence from the Rose Bowl
as far as the CPL side, right now Curie is the favorite to make it as the only teams in the CPL playoffs are Curie, Hubbard, Morgan Park and North Lawndale. The only way it will become competative would be if Simeon or Phillips fell back in. I do not see Phillips falling back in as they will at least make it to the semi's. Simeon could possibly depending on how they do this weekend. They are not as good as they were last year, mainly on the offensive side of the ball, but its the playoffs and anything can happen.

I recall some years ago this happened.One of the CPS got beat in a Saturday semifinal.A CPS playoff game was played Saturday.On Monday 4 days before the Prep Bowl those 2 teams met and 4 days later a beat up CPS team was beaten in the Prep Bowl.I know after IHSA done away with the Wednesday playoff CPS was still doing 2 playoff games in 1 week system
The CCL has done this recently as well. 4 teams played on a Wed. then they played the next game the Sunday before the Prep Bowl.
