No dog in the fight, but this game is nuts. Tied late in the 1st overtime. Been close the whole way. Kid from Plus banked in a 3 at the buzzer from just inside half court to send it to overtime

Omaha Catholics beat Lincoln Catholics in 3 overtimes.
yeah we've heard that many times before, craphead. did they beat the hell out of you in high school or what.I hate Prep.
Probably.yeah we've heard that many times before, craphead. did they beat the hell out of you in high school or what.
He's a Jaysker, so I don't think any of his opinions are worth more than a laughProbably.

Catholic schools in Nebraska play great basketball. This is coming from a catechized Lutheran.
You should post that awesome game tape.Nope.
My high school BB team beat Prep in both my junior and senior years.
I think the super-important, highly thought of (by himself) youth football coach is going off the rails right in front of us. Someone that knows that guy should get him some help, and the support he needs.I originally read the thread title as "Prep vs Prius" and thought for sure that this was going to be another thread by dave bitching about smiling mike.
You should post that awesome game tape.
That's too bad.1969 and 1970
Games weren't filmed for public use.

Man. I wish I could have been there.Probably before you were born, sonny.
Yeah? Your point? The rosters at some some "Catholic" schools aren't entirely made up of Catholics.
The best part is kids are changing public schools all the time as well. My kid will go to a public school, and I could care less. The whining about the private schools is the definition of butthurt. Especially from retirement age "men" who just can't let it go.Yeah? Your point?
Public schools are full of non secular kids..whats the difference?
You mad they are inclusive?
You mad bro?

So whats your proof? Give itYou could care less, huh? That means that you do care a little.
Well, I couldn't care less, as long as the rules are followed. Prep has violated NSAA rules for decades, offering "academic" scholarships to star athletes. Then they have the audacity to promote themselves as a Catholic institution offering an education instilled with faith.
You were the one who said the Omaha Catholics beat the Lincoln Catholics. I pointed out that not all of the Omahans are Catholic.
Hey, Prep won. You should get out your old letter jacket, have a drink, and throw the bottle against the wall. Those dirty cheaters did it again! You could care less, huh? That means that you do care a little.

This is really fun. Guy is LITERALLY living in the 1960s. Lol.So whats your proof? Give it
Does correlation prove causation?
Also, what rules?
You do realize all class A schools recruit right? Literally all of them.
You dont know anything about prep or any catholic school, how they function, and who they let in. You have zero idea. Youve formed biased opinions and just run with them because others do too and it gives you a built in excuse.
And you CERTAINLY know nothing, absolutely nothing, about Pius.
Btw, who cares if theyre all catholic or not? Is there some rule saying the students have to be?
I had rivals in HS too. Then I grew up and realized they were just kids living their lives like I was. This is really fun. Guy is LITERALLY living in the 1960s. Lol.
Maybe the inability to grow up is a Jaysker thing? All I know is this guy never did. Gonna be pissed until they throw dirt on him.I had rivals in HS too. Then I grew up and realized they were just kids living their lives like I was.
The last paragraph will go way over his head.Ugggg...for the billionth time.
A private school can offer free tuition, scholarships, anything they want. It is not "cheating"...if they want to lose money that is up to them.
Just like they can kick out any kid that they want and just like they can deny admission to any kid they want.
Prep could also start charging each kid 55K a year like Choate Academy (famous for the Kennedys) does...but they don't.
They also don't teach "religion" they teach theology which is different.
IMG in Florida charges 70K a year...if you are stupid enough to pay that...great...if not...great.
I am not from Nebraska, I have no dog in this fight...but at least know what you are talking about.
Ha...well shoot...they are a business...period. They need a X amount of students each year...then they need X amount of donations each year (that is why they have fun parties with lots of booze and THEN an auction)...simply put...it is a business model and for them, sports is part of it.The last paragraph will go way over his head.
While I agree they need to make money, if you dont think they have the best interests at heart youre wrong.Ha...well shoot...they are a business...period. Mount Michael has a business model...they focus on a crazy high ACT score as their model and for them...it works.
While I agree they need to make money, if you dont think they have the best interests at heart youre wrong.
Also as far as the "deny" kids thing goes, youre not technically wrong, they CAN deny. But just because they can doesnt mean they do. Ive heard some crazy things about parochial schools denying that just isnt true. I swear people think they have sport tryouts or something before letting kids in.
Prep can afford todeny, but some would be surprised how false the denied thing really is at parochial schools below prep and mount michael. (And if prep can put up with a relative of mine their standards arent that hard to get around either.)
Smaller parochial schools need enrollment, period. There are plenty of kids walking the halls that add nothing to the sports teams or act in classrooms for that matter. There are kids who got kicked out of other schools even, or whose parents wanted to get them to try a new environment. If the deny to excell at sports thing were triue they wouldnt be there.
As far as severe SPED kids go, how about we allow federal funding to parochial schools who take them in. Often they dont simply because they cant afford the resources, and state schools get federal, not just state funding for severe handicap programs. You only get the funding if they are in your hallways and classrooms, so its not like they could pocket the money and not let those kids in. Many schools would gladly take them in but they lack the resources. Since everyone bitches about that as a reason for a multiplier, lets allow federal funding to parochial schools who teach them so they can have the resources? ...crickets.....
And believe it or not there are plenty of kids with Sped, including down syndrome, in parochial schools.
The deny thing is overblown in nebraska. If anyone thinks norfolk catholic is denying to drop for example they are wrong, but ive heard that before.
(Not saying you believe any of that, just speaking generally).
