Because Trump's a Racist who hates Women and Blacks and Gays and he's a puppet of the right wingnut Christian Nazi Fascists who will only fire Women or Blacks or Gay people or anyone else who's not Christian or straight and refuses to swear on a Bible when they take their Oath of office!

I respond to the name calling Finney and incessant attacks from the Leftists on this board against me because I have firm Christian beliefs and express them. Why do they get to insult me and I have to remain mute?

I'm not into personal insults, but there are ways to return their verbal assaults on me, and I utilize them in my usually fruitless attempts to get them to stop with the personal attacks and deal with what I'm saying on its merits. Most never do, they just haul off with the name calling.

Who wants to be called a "racist" or a "bigot", especially if it's not true? Those folks don't know me, they only know what I offer as my opinions.

Am I not entitled to voice my opinions on a message board without being personally insulted?

Ask the ones on the Left who usually resort to personal insults as their default response to something I may say or challenge their assumptions over.

"Your're a Moron" "You're dumb" "You're stupid" yada,yada,yada. I don't get mad as much as I find it amusing that folks calling me dumb, or stupid, or a Moron can't even defend in themselves what it is they see as so undesirable in me.

I wish I had a giant mirror to act as a pop up on their screens whenever they start typing their disrespectful bilge.

But since the same words are used on the board daily as adjectives describing the new president by our liberal fellow posters, I would see no reason for you, and those of your ilk, to be selective with whom you criticize for the use of the vernacular. Just for the sake of showing your balance of being offended by words, would you please show equal indignity when our liberal posters or writers use colorful language when referring to The Donald?

mneilmont I really don't think our disagreements even need to get to the personal level. We disagree with the Left..OK so what?

Why does it have to get personal? Why not just state your disagreements, explain them, or contrast them to your fellow poster?

I admit when passions get high it's tough to avoid referring to someone as "idiot" or "moron" but how does that make your case against whatever they disagree with any stronger?

The Left isn't confined to this, we have some folks on the Right who get too personal also and it's all so worthless in a forum of ideas. I try to keep my disagreements to the point on the merits. However if I'm insulted, I will not act like some shrinking violet and ask "can we all please just along"?

Again, I'm not into the directly personal insults just because someone disagrees with me but if they start up with the name calling, I'm coming back at them in my own way, with my own style, and hopefully with full effect to either stop their needless insults or a response with equal personal viciousness minus the name calling.

I know of where you are coming from and it is hard to cope with. I am native WVIAN and have been away for 41 years and still have to cope with the illiterate, hillbilly, toothless crap from illiterate, ignorant, condescending northeast people most every day. Most times I laugh with (read as at) them, but every once in a while. . .

Bottom line Finney it is not necessary to crawl into to the sewer to disagree with someone when standing on the front porch and respectfully, directly indicating your differences with them works just as well.
