That's the other side of it. A few years back I showed my son a video on YouTube about Steve Carlton's 1972 season. He was in awe when he saw what that guy accomplished.

Smart fans get the difference. Young guys often haven't been exposed to different perspectives like many of us older fellows. I'm 62 and I've seen a lot of changes in baseball, football, basketball, etc. in relation to the rules.
Whata ya mean young guys? Ya r a young guy!

It is long past time to let it go, WKN. Your technical posts are awesome, but your self-defense posts are starting to give off Corby vibes.

What WKN did was fun little exercise but it's 100% meaningless. Someone can double check me on this but im pretty sure in '92 we still had a 118lb class and no 197. PLEASE WKN.....dont go back and recalculate your numbers; nobody but you really cares. What it boils down to is '92 was a different time with a different weight classes, different recruiting strategies etc. Records were made to be broken. PSU broke the record. Let it go. I've heard talk of adding a 215lb weight class. If that should ever come to fruition and some other team breaks the record with 11 weight classes; it's their record.

I am not a fan of Alec Bradley cigars, however, I can appreciate them because of the reputation he has built in the tobacco world. I also think that Gurkha, even though the cigars are good, but not great, are a little over priced for the quality. I am just not a fan for some reason. I know someone that only smokes Gurkha. I do not understand it, however, I guess it all comes down to ones pallet.

Watching wrestling from the 80’s and 90’s, compared to 2011 is like watching wrestling get reinvented. Those days past was like watching sumo wrestling mixed with leg humping. Sprinkled in with a few great matches.

David Taylor tried to satisfy people’s pent up demand for old matches by showing an old Terry Brands match on the Jumbotron at his Iowa dual. Very thoughtful of him! 😀
