I’ve only seen a few quarters of play from both teams on NFHS: Princeton vs East Duplin and Rosewood and then for Holmes full game vs Northeastern. From what little I’ve seen and the opposition they were playing, this looks to be a great game.
Coach Hoggard is as good as they come and Coach Gaster is trying to push his way there with many years to come. The winner of this game surely, or at least we hope, will be ready to give Tarboro a run in the next round.

Thoughts?

I am expecting a really good game. I hear nothing but praise for Princeton. It’s a shame this is a first round game.

I think Holmes may pull it out, they are very talented and obviously just as well-coached as Princeton, but I have a feeling that the Bulldogs will give the Aces all they can handle and then some. I'd lean to the home team in this game, that's why I'd slightly favor Holmes.

I see this game as a 50/50 game and with the lack of a full stadium, home field is minimized. Even typing against home feels like it’s against the grain, but this year feels different and other major sports have seen less home success this year.

I see the either the turnover battle or the team that gains the LOS is gonna win. Either way, I don’t see a blowout.

I saw Princeton last week and they have a very big offensive line and 2 bruising running backs. I feel that it should be a very entertaining game. Princeton’s defense will have to raise their bar to get the win.

Figured I’d drive a couple hours for a good one...
2nd play from scrimmage, Princeton scores from midfield.
Princeton 7- Edenton 0

It was a great game. Definitely two undefeated teams in the first half. The 2nd half was altogether different. The biggest difference between the two teams in the 2nd half was the play making ability.
Holmes had multiple 3rd and longs and converted all of them. It was nuts. The play action was wide open for multiple passing scores.
Princeton seemed to run out of gas on both sides of the ball. They definitely looked the part in the 1st half, but the 2nd half was a shell of the first half giant.

Home field had no advantage from what I could tell. The story of the game was Holmes’ playmaking down the stretch.

Solid summary. I too thought it looked like Princeton was running out of gas near the end of the third quarter. Another thing I saw was it took Holmes most of the first half to adjust to their offense but once they did so Princeton did not score in the second half.
