His video shows physical tools for a big man. He can pursue down the line for a very big guy.

Smith was rated as a d tackle, but played primarily on the offensive line in high school. Couple that with a shoulder injury that required surgery, was too much of a gamble bringing him in as an ee. Time will tell about Smith. Pringle comes in as an ee and able to go through winter workouts and spring ball. Jucos sometimes are hard to evaluate, I think Pringle is a good pick up in a needed position.

Out of shape? He's a NT. His job is to weigh over 300 pounds and play 15 to 20 snaps a game... How out of shape do you think he is?

Pringle is an out of shape juco who would probably need 2 years to get conditioned properly at this level. Holmes is probably more interesting. But neither of them is close to the player Kobe Smith is. Every year, every school has gains and losses during the meat of the recruiting season. It's going to happen. Bonner's commitment helps. But losing Kobe Smith hurts. A program in Kentucky's position doesn't get many shots at defensive players as good as Kobe Smith.
Do you really think that this staff would recruit an out of shape juco player who would require two years to get into shape? I don't think so. Go Cats!!

He can play dt as well... and will. He will back up Matt out of necessity but he'll work outside some too.

Did Smith actually enroll at USC?

Pringle looks to be in better shape than a NT that has been in the vaunted EK high performance program going on three years...

Alvonte Bell
Bell issue wasn't shape he spent all of spring practice trying to play olb. When the staff realized he couldn't they moved him to end and saw the potential. He was too behind at that point to waste a year.

Did Bell go thru spring, thought he and Miggins didn't get here until August?

Bell got here late summer and they tried him at OLB but he didn't pick it up and it was too late to switch him back so the RS him. 3kidsandme is correct except for the timing
