Totally ruined college athletics. Spoiled paid babies. Just like NBA. Mark Pope is a good man but may not have a strong enough personality to deal with this. Coach K, Bruce Pearl, Saban to mention a few who got fed up with the new pay for play.
Why didn’t NIL monies keep Mich St and UL players from playing hard?Totally ruined college athletics. Spoiled paid babies. Just like NBA. Nothing but excuses and cope while other blue bloods and elite teams are thriving.Totally ruined college athletics. Spoiled paid babies. Just like NBA. In reality you are correct. We should have hired a proven winner and should be bringing in more talent for 22 million dollars . Football has always been below average. The state of KY and it’s insane and incredibly loyal and Wild fan base should never have to accept mediocrity in men’s basketball. The coaching staff and roster needs a complete overhaul for 26-27I agree, but I also don't see it changing. There's no reason Kentucky basketball still can't be at the very top in this era. There's no excuse.
I cannot disagree with you.Makes for a convenient story, especially if you already had preconceived notions of NIL being bad, but all the other teams who were considered preseason contenders are paying it too. Something else is going on for us to be such disarray while most of those other teams at least look capable of playing on the same court together.
Big difference when your teammate makes a million dollars more than you like at UK and $50,000 more than you at like UofL or Mich StPlenty of teams like UL and Michigan St. doing perfectly fine. Got any other excuses?

True. But in professional sports, they are paid to play.Thats not it at all. Duke has guys making 5mil and guys making 100k. BYU same thing.
And kentucky was fine with this model last year. Not an ounce of issues with one guys pay over another.
But this year is different. Maybe its NIL, maybe two guys just dont like each other. But there no reason varying NIL paydays cant work. Just look at professional sports.. every team functions with tremendously different salaries.

Players should be paid based on their performance. Can you imagineThats not it at all. Duke has guys making 5mil and guys making 100k. BYU same thing.

Are they? Or are they disguised as fine because they beat Kentucky.Plenty of teams like UL and Michigan St. doing perfectly fine. Got any other excuses?
Oh I agree. But even in professional leagues, that have entire organizations dedicated to this stuff, its tough to pull off. Every single professional team has guys not earning their pay, and guys not being paid enough.Players should be paid based on their performance. Can you imagine
Semi-professional. Nor are they contracted to actually play and perform as basketball players. They are *wink, wink, nudge, nudge* still student atlhletes. But so are college players now. Theyre more immature, and thats a problem for sure. But.. there are NBA and NFL players making $10mil a year at ages as young as 18-21.
