Proof that Baltimore's embrace of BLM and the prosecution of the police is killing innocent blacks

When you call out the entire police department rather than just the bad cops, stop supporting the good cops and even arrest them on flimsy evidence and take them to court with little to no chance of winning and you provide support to rioters and the BLM movement, you get cops pulling back from pro-active policing. I posted a long time ago that innocent blacks will die because of these policies and unfortunately it is proving to be true.

Baltimore Is Begging Feds To Step In To Restore Law And Order

Baltimore’s mayor asked the FBI to send in reinforcements Wednesday to help the city get its murders under control.

Mayor Catherine Pugh, speaking at a news conference, explained she went to the FBI’s Baltimore office for extra agents to join with police officers in combating a skyrocketing murder count, reports CNN.

“Murder is out of control. There are too many guns on the streets. We’re looking for all the help we can get,” Pugh said.

The city already has 101 murders for the year, a number not seen in almost 20 years. The mayor’s spokesperson warned the violence could rise in the summer months.

“The summers in Baltimore tend to be very violent,” Anthony McCarthy told CNN. “And the mayor wants to get a handle on all the murders, the flood of guns on the streets and the gang activity.”

On top of an over 30 percent increase in murders, the city is also experiencing a shortage in police officers. The city is operating with the lowest number of officers in about a decade — 2,500 police officers. Usually, the department has 2,900 officers.

“You get in a crisis mode like we’re in right now with crime out of control and not enough uniformed officers on the street, I would say it’s at a crisis point,” Baltimore’s Fraternal Order of Police President Lt. Gene Ryan said.

The department is paying out $1 million in overtime just to make up for the difference.

“We continue to work with all of our federal partners to address the repeat violent offenders who have been the source of much of the increased violent crime that we have experienced this year,” the Baltimore Police Department spokesperson told The Daily Caller News Foundation in a statement.

"Proactive policing"? Geez Paxxx, are you working on the Minority Report type technology in the basement in between posts? What rights do people have if they live in certain neighborhoods, right Captain America?

When the mayor and the District Attorney essentially declare war on the police, they will no longer take risks of going into heavy crime areas. It has happened in many cities across the country, but none worse than Baltimore.

You can't be this stupid not to recognize this fact. Even Comey has acknowledged it.

They declared war on the police? Police-less state, that's what the Mayor of Baltimore and BLM are after? Geez, I didn't know that I guess. I thought it had something to do with abuse of power and racial profiling.

Abuse of power? The police were all declared innocent. That little fact may have escaped you since it doesn't fit your narrative. The mayor told the police to stand down and let them riot. That is a fact. Now, violence in the city is out of control and they are asking for federal help. This was all very predictable when the mayor and the DA overstepped their bounds and did not back their good cops.

Looks like they need to hire 400+ more police, that should help.

They need more police but who is going to go work in that cesspool? If they simply try to do their job, they may get arrested and prosecuted. Even when cleared, how do they get their reputations back?

Obviously you were traumatized by the one incident. Not sure how they let their numbers get down but there are lots of perks to being a policeman so I'm sure they can restore their numbers.

I'm not traumatized. The police department morale went to hell. They lost many cops. They stopped pro-active policing. It is purely the fault of the mayor and the DA. Blood is on their hands.

Who fed you that ********? OH....I get it, you read it somewhere. I doubt that you know anything about Charm City and what goes on there. Let me know when you want a guided tour....I know it very well. I'll take you to some places that will give you a lesson on "profiling".

Exactly. They have no idea what at the police deal with on a daily basis. Sure there are some bad cops that make the vast majority of cops look bad. But focus on the bad cops, don't indict the entire police force as Obama and Holder did. It will directly result in more innocent black lives lost. Baltimore is the perfect example.

The numbers got down because they all started retiring in the wake of Freddie Gray. There was a moratorium put on retirements in that they would only process X retirements a month. A couple of my Cop friends said they hadn't seen morale this low in their career.

BLM and the Obama DOJ did more to harm innocent African Americans that the media would ever acknowledge. It is called the Ferguson Affect. Comey has acknowledged that it is real and is costing lives. Cops have stopped proactive policing in many inner cities. Baltimore only heightened that concern with the phone charges and trials. And Holder used phony stats to try and show intentional bias on the part of police forces. He did not look at who was committing crimes. He looked instead at the black percentage of the population, to indict cops over arrests, stops, etc.

Those folks who know zero about Baltimore won't believe anything you say.......after all......you actually live there.
