SammyK, I don’t know much about Raleigh schools, what make this bad for your school or conference?

Just not a fan of Split conferences we went from having 11 split conferences total to 33 split conferences. If you are a 4A school in a split 4A/3A conference and you do not win your conference but are the best 4A team in that conference you should not get a top seed.

Coach, didn’t even look to see that it was a split conference. I agree with that completely. I have read that they will taking a look at the playoffs next.

Not understanding why all these split conferences. Especially when you can form an all 4A or an all 3A conference. I am pretty sure that some schools will put in appeals to try and change where they are.

I think they did a solid job 4A n 3A in the West

Their are a few changes I would like to see tho like LNC with Rowan schools n few cabarrus schools

I don’t like Patton to the mtns schools

kinda shocked West Meck/West Char. Stay in CLT as 3A members

Not a fan of Jay M Robinson being 2A but they are going all the way to Stanly co schools

The East has way to many split conferences

Brutal??? Get your dictionary out and look up the word brutal and you will see a picture of Garinger High School.
Most 2A and the SMC 1A would be brutal for Garinger, so drop that. They'd be brutal in every conference.

True...but matching up against Mallard Creek,Vance (Chambers),and Hough would be brutal for any team. Those three teams are the cream of the crop in football in Charlotte.

I know they opened up West Cab., but how in the world is JMR going to be 2a where it is located at.

Right....They only need to beat Mount Pleasant and North Stanly to be the top 2A team in their conference. The other five teams are classified as 1A.

I do like the Iredell/Cabarrus conference. Hope that part stay the same. But here is my thoughts. With no subdivision in the playoffs how many teams will be able to make the playoffs. Example looking at the conference with Mallard, Vance, Hough, etc. If only 2 teams can make the playoffs. One of these powerhouses would not make it. But I’m not saying that’s the case since I don’t know how many teams in this conference would make playoffs.

From What I understood is : JMR is landlocked due to Race track n a land fill . And I guess they didn’t want have over crowing there

my issue is : If NWC is going be the largest school in the county in the next 3-5 years then Where do you send these kids from NWC when and if NWC gets to that level

If we were to leave the Imeck, I’m glad it would be the Cabarrus option based on this first draft. Kind of rough on Hickory ridge, that trip to troutman isn’t the shortest of trips. My preference would have been to keep the Imeck as it was, but I think CMS wants to avoid multi county conferences as much as they can. Cabarrus would be a good alternative as it should be a better money maker and still provide good competition.

I will miss being with that Charlotte schools to a degree though. That conference, even though we were never conference champs (football), unquestionably made our program better. But it will definitely be fun having AL Brown in our conference again! I’ve never been to cox mill for any sporting event, I’ve been to hickory ridge a couple times, and love watching games there, and we keep our big in county rivals. Seems like a win all around for Mooresville should the state keep this in place

I may be wrong but i believe there are firm plans around working to built a new much bigger Northwest Cabarrus school either behind the current location or near it.. Also believe that JM Robinson loses alot of the kids back to Hickory Ridge and to the new West Cabarrus school that just opened i believe at near 95% of capacity with 1600 kids.

Correct but due to Covid NWC plans are delayed
Yes you also correct JM lost a lot but to me Why move to 2A unless your worries they may grow over next few years imo

Will be interesting to see how everything shapes out in Cabarrus co

i also believe that when building the West Cabarrus school the county had a;ready approved the purchase of land for another school, i dont think that land has been purchased yet or other details,

My understanding is that NWC is next in line for a new high school replacement and then Central Cabarrus gets their replacement. Each of these new high schools will have a minimum of 1600 seats.

We’ll see what Richmond brings back. They’re about to lose A LOT on offense. This spring may be beneficial for their program by getting some younger players some experience. Wouldn’t be shocked if all 5 of the players that signed today are early enrollees, 4 being on offense.

Players have to graduate before they can enroll and that won't happen until the end of of the year.

Grades would be more of a concern not just for Richmond but all schools...
