Sure, let's celebrate the history of people that participated in an armed insurrection against the country of which we llive and love. Celebrate them as men, sure, not as members of the Confederacy. It's funny that to some, burning the flag is a horrible anti-American act but celebrating a figure that literally sought to destroy the nation in war is perfectly ok.

EXACTLY! But we are talking about people who blindly support a man who got draft deferments so he wouldn't be shipped over to Vietnam, and then poked fun at McCain for being captured and tortured during the same war.

If they don't mind statues celebrating traitors, I say let's build one for Benedict Arnold! He sacrificed more to build our nation than those southern traitors ever did.
