Would be interested to hear the thoughts of anyone who was at the game. Surprised they lost by that margin at home. Huge game next week vs. Rita for their playoff hopes.

The teams were pretty close matched, tbh. 2 turnovers deep in Provi territory really killed them.

That's all I can write to keep this as professional as possible.

Completely agree with you to an extent.i predicted pc would won by 2 scores boy was I wrong. Vianney was better the I thought harris and Williams might be the 2 best athletes they face all year. That being said vianney played a great 1st half and took advantage of every pc mistake. But pc panicked they have a very good ol and multiple kids that can run the ball. And passed on prolly 80% of first downs. Also in this day and age with low numbers playing people both ways shouldn't be taboo. Pc has a great senior class in my opinion better the 2014. They need to play 5 or 6 people both ways the whole game. Gavin, sori, meyer, markosivic, and davalos to start. It is do or die for them right now I still think they are 1 of the 10 best teams in the state only time will tell.

Pjjp,

Any early thoughts to next week's game? Rita has looked impressive, but against teams that are not that good, whereas, PC has played an extremely tough schedule to this point.

Not sandbagging here, but I think PC is a slight favorite playing at home, playing for playoff hopes and looked impressive against the Flyer.

My only thoughts are this would seem to be a statement game for each team. It's tough to gauge each after two weeks. As you've said, Rita has not played the strongest competition thus far. Provi has played top flight competition, but just how good is tough to say. Week 3 will tell us a lot about each team. Obviously, this is a must win for the Celtics with the 0-2 start.

Wasn't going to say anything negative, just every time I or anyone else posts specifics, the thread gets deleted.

My son (Davalos), is up to playing both ways. He doesn't care as long as he gets to play nose, although he'd much rather play 3 tech in a 4 or 5 man line.

Heard Markasovic will be out for a few weeks. Again, no specifics.

This team is unbelievably talented. I do believe that in the right system they could be unstoppable.

ESL was a close game, and would have been a PC victory if it would have been in New Lenox.

Vianney was a good team, and they capitalized on every PC blunder.

Can't wait for Friday.

Man, I'm going to miss high school football.

You saying they got home cooking at the Clyde?

I'm not saying anything, lol. I don't want this thread deleted.

I do know a few of the "scouts" from Vianney saw the same game that we, the Celtics fans, saw. In their opinion, and mine, it would have been a different game in New Lenox. Pretty sure they aren't fans of the officiating crew we had. They had them for one of their games and I heard "unprofessional" more than once.

Not taking anything away from ESL. They have a great team, with big, freakishly fast kids.

I mean I don't go looking for trouble...but trouble always seems to find Provi threads so...I do what I feel I need to do to keep the peace here.

I was there. Provi opened the game with a huge run up the middle for a touchdown. Thought it would set the tone for the whole night, but Vianney came right back at them. I think the Celtics will be fine. There is no shame in losing to two defending state champions who are still good football teams. They need the Rita game though. They go to 0-3 and they will have little room for error with Mt. Carmel and Loyola still on the schedule.
