his decisions to open up this can of worms with nothing in it 11 days ago was an extreme lapse in judgement. To his credit, he tried to do the right thing once he knew that these new emails contained nothing germane to his original investigation. But the damage was done. He should've used the discretion that the FBI is known for. He was too afraid of the perception of hiding something. If he doesn't resign (and I think he will shortly after the election), Obama should fire his ***.

This situation is screwed either way. He resigns, people will say he was fired because he was investigating the Clinton Foundation. He doesn't resign or isnt fired, people will say the only way he couldn't be fired is because he was bought off in some capacity to not recommend indictment of Hillary.

Only one FBI director has ever been fired. Bill Clinton fired William Sessions for arranging meetings with relatives while on FBI business trips. After a very through investigation Janet Reno told President Clinton that Sessions could no longer effectively lead the bureau and law enforcement community,

Comey should be fired. He lost the support of many in the FBI and lost credibility with many.

Comey let the Clintons slide back in 2002... nothing has changed.

When President Obama nominated Comey to become FBI director in 2013, Comey promised the United States Senate that he would recuse himself on all cases involving former employers.

But Comey earned $6 million in one year alone from Lockheed Martin. Lockheed Martin became a Clinton Foundation donor that very year.

Comey served as deputy attorney general under John Ashcroft for two years of the Bush administration. When he left the Bush administration, he went directly to Lockheed Martin and became vice president, acting as a general counsel.

There are going to be a lot of FBI leakers who played politics in this thing going out the door in the next few weeks. I hope there are enough mall cop openings for them.

No problem......they will just trade places with the mall cops who will be taking their places. Hell....who knows.....I'll bet that a prize spot will be held for Anthony when he gets out of his sex addiction gig.

yep, he had no business determining what a prosecutor would do, he should have recommended indictment to Justice for her lying to the FBI, a crime, and destroying evidence after a lawful supeona, another crime.

Just a question.......Is Anthony Weiner at legal risk for having classified government info on his computer? I guess his wife is in the clear because she has no idea how they showed up.

When my kids were little there was a show on Nicklelodeon called "Weinerville". There was a little chant razzing the host when he did something dumb of "Weiner, Weiner!"

Every time Tony has done something boneheaded over the past decade, that chant pops in my head and I haven't seen that show in over twenty years. He needs to take his act to another country, like Italy, where they appreciate pols like him.

Maybe Comey is sick of the job, but doesn't want to....or doesn't believe he should have to.....quit or resign. So, he pulls this tack-one-way-then-tack-another gambit.....pissing off everyone on both sides......leaving his boss no alternative but to can him; which won't/can't happen until a winner is declared.

And then, in return for setting himself up as the fall guy for every partisan politician in DC, he joins some lobbyist for big money......perhaps some (even though he's an Obama guy) anti-Hillary/anti-Obama Right-ish wing organization with no love for Trump, but who can appreciate how his move compromised Hillary and made it a horse race again......and that's the end of that.

I'd bet maybe a couple bucks on that one.....

Trump agrees.
