No, not about politics. If you are going through a double door... GO TO THE RIGHT! If you are walking down the sidewalk and someone is coming from the opposite direction... GO TO THE RIGHT! If you are walking down the hallway and someone is coming from the opposite direction....GO TO THE RIGHT! How do people NOT get this?!?!?

Prolly the same idiots that jog on a major street even though there is a sidewalk next to the street.

Unless you are in Shanghai. Traffic cameras everywhere ensure that lights are obeyed better than in the states.

I have been to China several times in several different cities. Maybe things have changed, but I am not sure that is the way it was when I was there. I had my translator take me to where I could shop in Changgo and he pulled out into the 8 lane in the first wrong direction. We lived but it I was not happy.

We have had of the same food for sure though!

It does depend a bit on when you were there. I was told that the cameras are a fairly new development but we didn't interact with a large number of people and we were only in the East side of Shanghai.

It has been ~8 years. I really like China and HK. I just tried to post a pic of a guy that came up to me in Beijing and wanted me to take his pic in the square. I have no idea why he wanted it, but I took it and have it on my FB.

You should definitely go back. Airfare to Shanghai is cheap right now.

China is changing very, very rapidly in the cities. I suspect rural areas are changing too but I doubt as fast - I really don't know first hand.

I probably will at some point. If you have not been to HK.. GO! Victoria Peek is awesome. Hit the Hilton (i think that is right) and see the light show in the Mortans Steak House. Not cheep, but worth it. The light show is awesome with some drinks.
