Corrected. Thanks.
being #7 and #8 in each poll is pretty good accomplishment. They have tOSU #5, so if the playoff committee puts them there, it will be setting up for tOSU in the playoff if either TCU and/or USC fall. If both fall, then you might have Bama pass a one loss TCU. If tOSU is in, then we are Rose bowl unless the committee decides to not have a BIG team in the Rose. Looks like UGA and UMich can survive in playoff even if either loses their championship. LSU already out of playoff with 3 losses, and it has been proven that too many losses eliminates you even if you win conf (i.e. 2016). If LSU and/or Utah win championship games, then we could have 3 loss team pass Penn State in rankings. could actually see a champ group being UGA, UMich, tOSU and Bama.

3 teams sitting home next week with 10-2 records. Bama, Tenn and PSU.

Notre Dame with an 8-4 record with a loss to Marshall still ranked 19th in the AP poll? That's a guarantee for them to be ranked Top 5 next year!!! (roll eyes).
Has there ever been a team with such high praise that continually falls on their faces? Couldn’t happen to a worse group of ‘fans’!

Most underachieving team - aTm.
Most overachieving...TCU. They got no votes at all.

Years were Penn State was unranked in the preseason AP poll, and finished the season ranked in the top 10: 2016, 2005, 1967, 1947. If we finish ranked in the top 10 (i.e. winning the bowl) it’ll be one of the biggest overachieving seasons in Penn State history.

The fact that of the 25 "pre-season ranked" teams, 15 ended the season as "unranked", should be tattooed onto the forehead of every fan who gets excited over pre-season rankings. (I believe last year it was 16 of the 25 "pre-season ranked" teams that finished unranked)
Well yeah if you actually factor playing the games into your results. That’s a novel way of looking at things.

it should be tattooed on the foreheads of the “expert” journalist that vote.

Given that it is a mandated/demanded exercise in futility/stupidity? Required by their Media Lords in order to generate $$ through purchases/clicks from their starving audience?

Maybe they should. At least any of them who actually take it seriously (and some of them probably do :) )
.

But I imagine many of them already know, as well as anyone, just how idiotic the exercise is.
