Not sure but this all is getting past the point of embarrassing. How long before ESPiN picks it up? I believe Dinich just left campus a day or 2 ago.
Which player was she trying to hook up with at midnight? That’s her m.o.

For what it’s worth, Pope and de Levie are active on LinkedIn pushing for Jay and Lubrano to be re-elected.

This is just getting asinine now. The very name that used to unite us is the same name that divides us now. If Jay’s name was anything but Paterno would he get the support from some of you that he gets? What exactly has he done to get this support? Some of you have for years been so proud of some of the accomplishments of Joe and his players during the Grand Experiment. You yelled from the mountain tops that Joe didn’t just coach, he developed exemplary young men who became great leaders, husbands, and fathers. Now, if one of those exemplary young men voices their opinion, they are called whiny bitches and told to STFU. Am I the only one seeing the irony in any of this? There’s one common denominator in all of the arguing and controversy and it isn’t that hard to figure it out. Penn State, along with it’s alumni and fans, will never move forward with this constant controversy.

And if he wasn’t Jay, you wouldn’t hate him so much.

Around here, you‘re the reason Jay divides “us”.

Um no. Jay divides on his own. If Jay wants to help the university, at this point, in my opinion, the best thing he could do would be to distance himself from it. He seems like a smart guy, he should do whatever his passion may be? Education. Poetry, whatever he likes that would be more rewarding than a spot on the BOT.
If you want to continue to look in the rear view mirror and complain about statues and apologies, go for it. But, you are going to be waiting for a long time and continue to hold everything back. Jay has been on the BOT for awhile and hasn’t delivered that to you and isn’t going to anytime soon. Again, what has he done that warrants your fervent support?

He’s done nothing but ride daddy’s coattails. He embarrassed himself publicly by refusing to shake our current head coach’s hand. He wasn’t in favor of supporting our football program with facility upgrades. His behavior is that of a spoiled child, and that doesn’t include him opening his mouth regarding SWH Nil.

I wish Kevin Thompson was around these days…..

Who ya' want to replace them with?
I'll go with Short's people. Moriarty, Krieger , Houston. I'm willing to trust Short. At least to give them a chance. Know who I definitely don't trust? 2 guys with a proven track record of trying to undermine Franklin.. The only thing Jay and Joe share is the last name. he thinks he's always the smartest person in the room. He isn't..he's a condescending spoiled know it all. People are finally waking up to the fact.. Don't know if it will be enough to vote him out, but he now knows people, and a lot people ,see him for what he is.

Let us recount the sins of Jay. He doesn't support, maybe even dislikes, Franklin. He opposes "investments" in athletic facilities (though none have been derailed by his opposition). He fu@ked up PSU NIL, though no one can provide a tangible example of how. So in order to punish him, some want to throw him off the Board (to which he probably shouldn't have been elected in the first place, but that's another matter). Briliiant! So with all of the destruction he's caused, imagine the wrath unleashed when his formal link is dissolved and he is finally repudiated by Penn State. Yinz're fu@ked!

I don’t think he has the unwavering support you think he does to unleash much wrath. In fact, amongst my former roommates, friends and relatives that are alumni, there’s never any discussion about statues, apologies, or anything that a small group on here is hung up on. Never. That’s why I’m always somewhat surprised by the personal grudges a select few on here continue to hold.

You might be catching on (sarcasm, even the obvious variety, is often ignored), though I don't expect it to last very long. So if Jay doesn't have the power and influence that the two of us don't think he has, people need to look under a different rock, or maybe in the mirror.

No, I get what you are saying. My point is, that I don’t think the majority of the alumni feel a statue or apology is of utmost importance. Therefore, clinging to the name Paterno in an attempt to satisfy that unrealistic need, for some individuals, seems misguided to moving forward.

I’ve never been a fan of Jay, but when I see Brandon Short completely supporting and promoting the Penn State Forward group he loses all my trust and support as well.

And Short seems to only be about football. Solve the university’s issues? Invest in football. Football is the way.

At least they have a platform - I know DEI/inclusion/LGBTQ+ rights and climate resilience (among other initiatives they support) aren't popular here and it's unlikely they'll be able to move the needle on any of it anyway, but at least you know what you have with them (and none are part of any NIL efforts as far as I can tell). That said, Short supports one candidate who is not part of the PS Forward slate so you can vote for him without much heartburn...

What is the evidence that Jay doesn’t support Franklin? Just that Jay doesn’t support every football expenditure? Is that it? Vote against a football expenditure means hate Franklin?

Did any of you read the article I posted? Short brings up a very good point. We have the largest alumni network in the country. If every person gave just $24/year, PSU would have the most NIL funding of any school in the country. Naturally, that isn’t going to happen, but there will be some that will donate much more than $24/yr to offset those who may not contribute. He’s not wrong. This shouldn’t be that difficult.

I agree, which is why I think that PSU's difficulties with attracting money from the alumni, whether for athletic facilities, NIL, or the general fund are larger than some care to acknowledge (though Dr. Bendapudi is well aware and I suspect Dr. Kraft is).

You clearly didn’t read the article I posted. Short has started a scholarship program at Penn State Greater Allegheny campus in honor of his daughter. The scholarships are provided to students at that PSU campus affected by gun violence. They have raised $600,000 so far and have another big fundraising event coming up in Pittsburgh. So, no Brandon Short isn’t only about football.

We are finally in agreement. However, I think maybe Mauti and Short know more about what those obstacles are behind the scenes than some want to give them credit for.

Penn State Forward has one thing in common with Brandon and that's why he supports them.

Penn State Forward has no interest in the University and are only after BOT seats to further DEI and Environment issues, nothing else. They are part of a National organization to push the same objectives on every large University. In three to four years our entire alumni board will be made up of these people unless you, yes that's you, don't let it happen. They are spreading like coach roaches.
