Looking at the requirements to apply for public comments on the BOT web site, they know how to discourage anyone from even wanting to comment. Here is a great example;

  1. Topics Permitted: The Board will not accept comments that reference, in whole or in part, the following topics: the employment status of any specific individual; statements concerning the private activities, lifestyles or beliefs of any specific individual employed by or associated with the University; or grievances relating to any individual student or employee. In addition, the Board will not accept public comments from a party to any pending or threatened litigation or any administrative or other proceeding to which the University is a party, or by legal counsel for such party.
That leaves pretty much only talking about the weather and maybe what you ate for breakfast that morning as allowed topics.....

While the bot sucks, there are legal implications to consider.

I hope you don’t think less of me but I have decided to keep my 12:52 tee-time at The Flamingo golf course in Naples on Thursday instead of flying back for the meetings!

Play 18 holes, if you can take that many strokes, then enjoy scones and lattes in the clubhouse.

Nice lounge and facility . I’ve had the opportunity to play all 3 courses at Leily . Good times .
Lely is OK - but there are much better courses in Naples! Good golf weather now, so hopefully you will have a birdie or two, maybe more.

Yeah, that list is nothing. But it’s what’s not on the list that they won’t discuss either that makes you wonder, e.g., basic returns projections from specific (capital) investments. You can’t ask before because they haven’t yet brought their ideas together. You can’t ask during because that’s a private session. And you can’t ask after the fact because that decision’s already been made, therefore it’s non-productive.

Had a buddy at Calusa , been on Naples National and saw Fuzzy and Coach Brian Kelly ugh another time . Mediterra is cool. West Bay is great after the redesign . Yeah , loads of great courses in Naples . Initiation fees have gone crazy , glad I have friends . 😎

Playing Twin Eagles tomorrow
That is where I live year round, quiet and secure and sort of expensive - enjoy yourself on either course, both are good. Play Quail West if you can. Mediterra also has good courses, but I never liked the Black Course at Tiburon. Played the Ace Classic years ago with Wayne Levi and saw the pros at the Ritz Hotel Golf for lunch.
I never made it to Calusa Pines, never invited by the Hobie Baker award winner who worked for a nameless stock brokerage.

Have a retired dentist friend from Lancaster that lives down at Twin Eagles, West Point grad . I don’t like the Black course at Tiburon either . Gold at Tiburon is the best.

Onion Dip is always a good opening topic of conversation to discuss at board meetings...

You can ask, but there is no requirement for anyone on the BOT to respond. It is public comment not a Q&A session.
The only requirement of the BOT or any public body in PA is to pretend to listen.

You can certainly make the case that this wasn’t the best thread to post that. But my point stands that there is no place where you’ll ever get the answer.

These bags of crap rigged the whole BoT thing when they were constantly being flogged about Joe.

They're the biggest disgrace to Penn State.

By chance any word on which individuals where selected to become worthy of joining the elitist BOT? Has Barry been given a Green light to appear on the official BOT Alumni ballot?

The screening committee is set to meet on Wednesday (2/26/25) at 1pm, apparently to decide which of the candidates are qualified for inclusion on the ballot.
After the 1pm private meeting, there is a brief public meeting set for a 3pm start.

My fear (and assumption of how it will go down)...they'll simply announce those that made the final ballot, and we'll never know who ended up being excluded and why. Hoping that anyone that was excluded will a) know about it, and b) be willing to speak publicly about it.

To the point if anything is going to get corrected everyone needs to start calling their state representatives and explain/complain about the PSU BOT. There needs to be a major thinning of the pigs at the trough as well as new guidelines set up.
