NICE!!!!! Man, as much as I'm enjoying this, I would have LOVED for the ref to call stalling in sudden victory against Ferrari, just to see the reaction of the Iowa fans (even though it would have been the right call).

Worked out, but why didn’t Rocco go neutral? If he was ridden out, we lose.
Ferrari is going to be the first wrestler ever to give up zero career takedowns and still end up a 0x champ.
What makes me mad about Ferrari is he is talented enough to wrestle a different style and dominate people. Kid is quick as a cat and has great shots when he decides to go. It’s a waste that he wrestles the way he does
Cause he had confidence he would get out which he did. He got rode for 8 seconds not even close to losing that ride out.

i think he would have gone neutral if he didn’t have the stall call against him.
It’s genuinely sad that he’s convinced himself he needs to wrestle like that and coaching malpractice that Brands hasn’t told him otherwise.
And ferrari had a stall, so you’ve got a chance to get a 5 second count stall point if things get testy.
You heard the ref tell Welsh he had 30 seconds of riding time. Welsh should have taken neutral.

Finally, some aggression from the Iowa wrestler and he gets pinned.
You take the one you/your coaches have the most confidence in. Ferrari is good on his feet, when he decides to shoot. So I guess the coaches were more confident in Welsh's ability to get the esc. And if not, it was just a regular season match to get some work on bottom against a good wrestler.
Never. We don't take neutral unless dominating. He got out because Cael and Rocco have faith.
Loved the replay of Rocco returning the Ferrari stare down post-victory. The pre-match psych out stare down was something a lot of guys did in high school. It's rare at the college level.
