Is a video breakdown available? I think the commentary was a suspecting td, although very close, unless I’m mistaken. Taylor wrestles that way. He will not be repeating in Cleveland.
Watch a replay of the takedown by the Michigan kid against Fishback today. Less reaction time than Taylor took, but they awarded the takedown and confirmed by replay. Taylor had a hand AND knee down and then used his other hand to help push up to a standing position. I watched both of these situations in slow motion and Taylor probably had twice the reaction time Fishback did. Also, I'm wondering if they didnt go back far enough on the Taylor review? The one official kept motioning with his hand to roll it back and I wonder if they ever did.

There was most certainly a commonality from top to bottom.
Or, a respectful counterpoint –
Two Lion freshmen each lost to a former national champ by 1 point. A tough, if immature, kid pulled out of redshirt three straight years got caught by a national runnerup he was leading well into the third.
The commonality I saw was that our only losses came against young men skilled enough to reach an NCAA Saturday night.
Now, about today’s Iowa State/OSU dual . . . ;)

How do those rules reconcile with all of the takedowns we see where guys just grab both ankles and don’t have the hips at all? Personally, for Duke, I thought it was so close it could go either way and neither call would be overturned.
That TD call would have had a much better chance of being overturned at nationals since the ref isn't the one reviewing himself.

I think manning comes out for the match with the refs telling them the whole time all PSU guys are stalling and none of his are!

This just shows how dark your blue and white glasses really are, just sayin.
Don’t agree with that, but it really doesn’t bother me to be considered PSU-jaundiced. I would offer to you that my annoyance with the belly taps is more of an old guy, old school, act like you’ve been there before take than a PSU-centric take, but you can analyze it however you wish.

We
Neb was going to wrestle hard. Taylor/PJ and Cole/AJ were going to be tight. Hardy was going to win.

Who had Rocco with a major……..me neither.

We took a top team to the woodshed in a good practice……….or something to that effect per Cael.

Beautiful sunset in a crystal clear balmy 10 degrees……..life is awesome

I always try to keep it somewhat funny. After a night’s sleep, I’ll give Brock a pass. While I didn’t like the belly pat, I’ve always thought he was a classy dude. Maybe my take was colored by my hatred for Manning.

Next time, I’ll give my firearm to @Psalm 1 guy, get 2 good sleep cycles, and then post.
Where is the fun in that? I'm talking about fun for me and other readers :)

So, I was away the entire weekend. I caught 149-285 at the bar while having dinner, but, I couldn't watch it as close as I wanted to. I was finally able to watch this morning and these were my thoughts:

125 - Luke keeps getting better and better each time out.
133 - Marcus stays in perfect position and takes advantage of his opportunities
141 - Braeden looked phenomenal through one and a half periods. He's got an awesome quick single, and his potential is through the roof. He definitely gassed out, and he needs to keep getting in shape for March. I saw the stomach taps, but, it was really an immature reaction with the post-match kicks. Oh well, it's not that big of a deal. He is a competitor and he needs to learn from it.
149 - Shayne got off to a slow start again, but, turned it on as usual. He just ran out of time and came up one point short of bonus
157 - P.J. was so close on that first period takedown. Personally, I can't complain about the officiating. Taylor wasn't taking any committed shots, but, P.J. simply wasn't doing enough on his end in the 3rd and OT to get the stall call. Taylor had a nice body lock in OT, after P.J. was so close to getting back points in the 1st ride-out period. I definitely like P.J.'s chances when it really counts, and it wouldn't shock me if that ends up being Duke's only career loss.
165 - Mitchell's dominance is a joy to watch. He is an all-timer for sure.
174 - I'm not sure what got into Levi on that late push, that is completely out of character and you could tell he felt bad about it. As for the match, he took care of business coming from behind against a solid competitor.
184 - Rocco is getting more and more aggressive the longer he is the room. I really like the way he is wrestling.
197 - Barrsenbrink just attacks and attacks and attacks. It is so much fun to watch. He was a tough PD call away from the tech.
285 - No complaints. If they are in the same situation in March, Cole needs to take neutral.

Again, I just didn't think P.J. did enough to force the stall call, in my humble opinion.
he did a lot more then Antrell moving forward Antrell going backward refs need to quit the BS and start calling more stalls!why do they wait till the 3rd when the match is almost over they call them in the first the kid will probably try and wrestle!

I must have watched a different match than a lot of people because I saw PJ going backwards almost as often as Taylor. Taylor controlled PJ with his underhook and PJ had to bury his head and retreat to defend. PJ also only took 1 real committed attack, which he almost scored on. Taylor didn’t try to attack but he wasn’t running the whole match like people are saying. He stayed in the center and hand fought hard. He wrestled a smart tactical match. All that being said, I think PJ will be better for it. I think he will be much more aggressive if they meet again

I just read a FB post that said Davis was involved in an apartment far due to an electric scooter last Wednesday. They said he suffered smoke inhalation and some burns. I found a story in the newspaper about the fire, but no names released.

I don't really find the burns as possible, but possibly some smoke inhalation. I also don't know if they just chose Davis because of the scooter reference and they wanted to make a joke.

Anyone else actually hear anything?

I saw the same Facebook post. The poster is the admin for the Facebook group Penn State Wrestling Room and is usually very reliable. She’s not one to post rumors.
