Nota, believe there are some glaring omissions in your staples list.
Beer, wine and some smooth single malt sipping whiskey should at least garner honorable mention.

Batteries be damned, I have my priorities. The bar is never short on any ingredients. Why I can even pour you a jalepeno margarita if this was your desire!
What an event. Last night I stopped to buy bread and milk. Not because of the storm but because we were out. I was able to get milk. The only bread I could find was texas Toast and hot dog buns. I don't know how we will survive this 3"-4" of rain without a warehouse stockpile of flashlight batteries, toilet paper, water (what? we're getting 4" for free).
Yep I flew home and actually landed while the storm was hitting N Houston. We never even experienced any type of turbulance. I don't think we got even 1" at our house but the TV media from Network to Local are still hyping 8 to 10 inches of rain tomorrow. Pure hype and ********.
Thanks for the thoughts and well wishes. We got through it with little damage here, although Indianola and Magnolia Beach caught a lot of the storm surge. Driving in it was crazy... but I did anyway...
The entire storm was a joke. In Austin, I didn't get more than .26" of rain the entire time. My phone was buzzing constantly with flood warnings for DAYS on end, but it was completely false. Total non event here.
I got hail stones the size of golf balls in my yard.....oh wait they are golf balls. This 100 degree weather is bringing out the guys that can't hit the fairway! Has anyone noticed the higher the handicap the more expensive the ball? As if the ball can improve the score?
