didn't all the pundants think the Campbell hire was a very good one?

I recall the same. He may have been a decent hire. The big problem was that he was hired 56 days after Franklin was told to hit the bricks. That said, he made his choices regarding who he may or may not retain in terms of personnel. Given Knowles' success at UT (so far) with PSU players, one can question if he did a good job there.

Well his fanboy, Josh Pate, blamed it on our NIL package. While that is an issue that doesn't explain the complete game day chokes he's made. He's not first year coach and even conference affiliation doesn't explain those.
The talent evaluator we heard about is no where near what we are seeing. I'd have to think that Terry Smith, Dan Conner and the other PSU staff members, after seeing the first few practices with the ISU guys, knew it wasn't going to work. But really I don't know how much of is on Campbell for having to magic a team together after Krafts complete clusterfuk of a coaching search and hire.
Not sure what Todd B. thinks since he was a huge fan.
My thinking is maybe Campbell should have spent more time with the current players and coaching them up then schmoozing the former letterman who felt left out.

I really thought he was a good choice considering who else was available. Oh well, next time I probably won't think any of them are good.

What's amusing though is when they do make a good play, they still do all these celebration dances and gestures. Even if they're getting their asses kicked, all that matters is still that highlight video. That's something I just don't get.

There I am still watching Penn State lose and I am not enjoying it at all, but one play worth a damn and all of a sudden we've got white and blue smiling peacocks and pelicans out there. I'm just glad they can have fun, because I sure as hell can't.
