He was hurt most of the year???? In the beginning of the season too? Please. How many games he miss? Gotta love how sissified many are these days. I'll boo my future 8 year old son if he calls a fair catch on the one. Not negative, realistic. As far as basketball goes. I'm not negative AT ALL. Why? Because we're great. When you're good/great why be negative? But in football we usually suck. So yes until we do something, until stoops proves he's even a halfway competent head coach (he hasn't proven that he's a competent head coach), then I'm going to be negative. As far as I'm concerned he hasn't earned any praise. The in game coaching to this point has been PATHETIC. The game preparation (ie, we game planned for the other QB vs UL). If Stoops gives me a reason to believe in him I'll be the first to admit I was wrong about him. I want to admit I'm wrong about him. But damn yall the guy just looks clueless. He seems to always have that 'deer lost in the headlights' look on the sidelines.

If you're looking for someone to sugarcoat things, I'm not the one. Sorry I'm just not. I don't pay good money to watch people call fair catches at the GD one yard line. In every way shape or form that is just utterly downright STOOPid. Hopefully if he hears the boo's it'll motivate him to do better next time. Sorry but nothing about booing is low class once you reach the college level. These aren't high school kids. I'm not an old man yet I'm pretty young so I don't see the issue.. If I were 30-40 I would tend to agree that it's not right. But I'm not 30-40 so yea ill effing boo next time he calls a fair catch at the one believe that. People want to act like they're children. No. Just. No. They're men that better be able to handle some boo's if they want to call fair catches at the one. I heard people say terrible things when it happened. All I did was boo. It's a damn boo. I CAN believe how sensitive many of you all are. You still get breastfed sir? Serious question.

Great job of coaching from the stands. I'm sure Timmons had no idea he had done anything wrong, I'm sure none of the coaches pointed it out to him or had ever ever mentioned it to him before, I'm even sure he ran off the field patting himself on the back for finally catching one until he saw what great field position it put us in.

Great job, keep embarrassing our fan base, I will bet the announcers gave you a lot of praise for your game changing input.

Maybe you should confine your fandom to basketball or switch to the NFL------no, that wouldn't work either, they still make mistakes in the split second they have to make decisions at times.

About the only place you find perfection is in some of the critics sitting in the stands, although even I made a mistake once-------but it was so long ago I forgot what it was, LOL..

Our punt return game has been so bad over the last few years, I don't understand why we just don't send the house every time and try to block the kick. If it fails then we will either have a fair catch or a couple yard gain and that's all we get anyways.

I understand Timmons has not looked that great the last few years at returning these punts, but you have to wonder if the kid really is not very good at returning punts, why does he keep winning the job? The kid has to show something for him to keep winning the PR job. I find it hard to believe we are so low on punt returning talent that Timmon starts back there because of that fact. He must show off something special during practice to keep winning the job. If that is the case, you have to think the kid has the talent to be a productive player back there and just needs the confidence to show what he is really capable of. After looking at the speed on our roster, if Timmons is the man again this year, i believe this will be the year the kid shows what a special talent and difference maker he can be on the football field. The good news about being a Kentucky football fan the last few years, the punt return numbers have to improve. No way in the world can those stats get worse. Since Timmons is a Kentucky kid, i hope he does fix his confidence issue and becomes one of the most dangerous players in the SEC to play against.

I honestly don't care who does it. What I care about is that someone is actually productive when they do it. Last year we just returned 11 total punts for a whopping 81 yards. Our rivals, on the other hand, returned around 23 punts for 230+ yards. Two years ago we returned more punts, but our average was atrocious. It's been this way for a while. We are just extremely unproductive when returning punts. They are a phase of the game that can entirely break an opponent and flip an entire field. It is good to be careful, but we also have to have someone back there that can grab some yards when he gets the room to do so.
I'll say again...the #1 thing about returning punts is catch the ball (and to andrel's point, catch it when and where you should catch it). Returns are nice when you get them but really just icing on the cake. Maybe it is pure old school thinking but I believe the "punt return game" is more about avoiding mistakes (don't rough the punter, don't let the ball hit the ground, don't muff the catch, don't block in the back, etc.) than making plays (i.e., returns).

Peace

I think we must have lost about as much yardage on illegal blocks on returns as we have gained from the returns. And UK isn't the only dummy there, it is just crazy to watch a lot of them, what are they thinking? It seems like a good percentage of the good returns are returned for a loss after the penalties.

Catch the ball with momentum forward...just like an outfielder..that is the key
