I am not going to the game, but there are really no bad seats in the stadium.

If you want an indication of a rivalry, look at the Purdue clock tower this weekend, although you are most likely not going. They hate IU so much that instead of using the roman numeral IV for four, they put IIII because IV was too close to IU. Every kick off, the stadium yells IU sucks, regardless of how bad Purdue is. We need a fervent rival to build off of.

For dining, try Nine Irish Brothers. Drinking, hit Harry's Chocolate shop. It is prohibition era. Enjoy.

Thanks for the recommendations! It's my first time there, my daughter just started a Masters program there so we are going to meet up with her and go to the game together. Looking forward to it!
Engineering? Great school, particularly great in engineering.

There are other great programs as well.🙈 I hear about engineering all the time. 😂 It is excellent.

Stop in Neil Armstrong Hall and take a picture with the statue outside. I am not sure if the Purdue Airport still has the Amelia Earhardt museum.

One last bit of trivia....who is the most prominent Purdue Alum?

Neil Armstrong
Orville Redenbacher
Drew Brees.

Actually, students did a survey years ago and Orville was close to Neil.🙈

lol no

For the Illinois game, I saw just as many beat IU or some variation of IU sucks as I did Purdue Football shirts

it's a great rivalry and when the administration tried to threaten students on the 'IU Sucks' chant during bball, the entire stadium started doing it, not just the students.

they are NOT getting rid of it

On the jumbo tron, they highlighted various Purdue rankings and achievements and then showed IU to boos, laughs, and jeers.

no way they try to drown that out

I'm heading out for the IU game on black Friday

The difference here is that it is actually a rivalry, instead of one team believing there is one and the other team laughing about it.

Thanks for pointing that out champ.

For the record, our fans chant "F Penn State", which has nothing to do with rivalry. The "other" team can laugh all they want. Can't change their disgusting, sordid history of child abuse and rape that they tried to sweep under the carpet and got away with nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

So then why did you respond to the post regarding the PU/IU rivalry. The chant would be great if it were an actual rivalry, and no they are not chanting because PSU got away with systematic child abuse that EVERYONE knew about, if you asked the half the students they wouldn't know who Sandusky is.
