38-3 Bama. Defense plays a good 1st half but tires in 2nd half. Bama holds OU O to less than 200 yards

I can’t predict this game.
All I want is OU to play a competitive game.
Two weeks to prepare and playing at home may make it possible.
Then again, it’s against Alabama with its Heisman contender QB against an OU team in free fall mode.

Can't help it, I'm a homer...

OU 24-21 simply because Bama has zero respect for us and is looking forward to Auburn

I get it. Some radio host admitted he was an OU homer and said 19-17 OU. A win over Bama would sure take some sting out the crappy season. Hope you are both right

OU has a puncher's chance in this one. This isn't your typical Nick Saban Alabama team that blows out teams week after week. Both of their losses have been on the road this year, and they have hated rival Auburn next week.

This will be, by my count l, the 4th toughest opponent that OU has faced at home.
The three others were: (in my opinion)
1966 Notre Dame
1971 Nebraska
1985 Miami
All three were OU defeats.
I’m aware the Alabama is not as great as it’s Saban vintage, but I see this year’s team as still a force that OU can’t stand up against.

Agree CT...what is sad is I'm not sure how weak the force must be before we can compete...this, IMO, is sadder than the Blake years. We should have NEVER dropped off this much in the last few years.

I was at the 83 Nebraska @ OU game. That was a pretty good team, too, with Gill, Rozier, and Fryar. Lost that one as well, but might not have if OU hadn't had a lineman jump when they were inside the 5 about to tie it up. Relative to the era, I'd say that Nebraska team was much better than this year's Bama. That said, this year's version of OU isn't close to '83.

Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer by 4 touchdowns or so.

I’m of the same opinion. Never saw this coming.

I'd also rate the 1994 and 2000 Nebraska teams better than this year's Alabama team. There are probably several more over the years. 2012 Notre Dame was probably better. Alabama is not some juggernaut this season. A decent comparison would be the 2016 Ohio State team that visited Owen Field.

Jackson loses 2 fumbles and throws 1 int. Online can’t handle the Bama D line. OU D tires in the 3rd, O never really moves the ball. The play calling and RB/Reciever rotations make no sense. The play calling will be lackluster at best. It won’t be close……..Bama by 38

I doubt if any of us saw a good receiving corps eliminated by injuries or an offensive line that Bedenbaugh could not develop or a 5-star quarterback who is still not ready for prime time.
This time in Sooners history is unlike any time before as the program has moved to a very competitive SEC Conference.
And that move has seemingly come at least a year prematurely.
Make-or-break offseason awaits Venables in terms of coaching changes and recruiting. But….OU has the legacy and resources to emerge “sooner” than we think.

Bumma 49 OU 3. Will be over by halftime as Bumma pulls the starters early to save for Allbarn and gets a lot of those young 5 stars some playing time.
Only possibly one winnable game left and this one aint it. LSU at home and at night will be a tall task, I say winnable because LSU is struggling too but not as bad as we are. Might be for the best to not make a bowl, get the ball rolling early and get some help, this Coaching Staff needs an enema and a good colon cleanse. Even the best Offensive Guru we can find won't be able to help this offense for a few yrs. How many players stay after this yr? How many more recruits flip? Gonna get worse for a while before it gets better I am afraid.
OU was not prepared for this move and made some very poor decisions in the process. Buckle up, gonna be rough for a while.

Signing Day is 13 days ahead.
I have to believe Venables hires a good OC before then.
And while Sperry goes to Florida State, there’s a 4-star QB named Jayden O’Neal committed for 2026…so far.
And next year, SEC money starts coming in. That’s when the good side of the move to the SEC starts coming in.

And….if a new OC is NOT hired soon it may be an indication that Venables’ time at OU is over.
With very tough games with Alabama and LSU looming and recruit OT Fasusi visiting Texas, Venables looks to be on very thin ice.

The LR fiasco started the slide and BV just han’t been able to fix it so far. Like 67 said it is going to a bumpy ride

56 - 3. The cheerleaders go through the Joker makeup artists to try and paint a smile on their faces but to no avail. They throw the pom poms on the field and quit in disgust. Our QB's are plastered all over the interwebz lying in the fetal position due to numerous bludgeoning sacks. Venables will talk about God, family, and competitive spirit, oh and this is not the result they wanted.

Well, I think it’s going to be bad, but not that bad. But to your point, Alabama shouldn’t have a problem with us whatsoever…..unless.

Lincoln Riley, even with his good W/L record, has proven to be the worst coaching hire in OU history.
I give Gibbs a pass for what he inherited from the probation, but Schnellenberger and Blake were poor choices as OU had to deal with the fallout from the probation.
Riley’s sudden exit led to his poaching OU’s roster and recruiting and left OU in a desperate search for a new coach….and that new coach has not brought OU back to being a blue blood program even with three top ten recruiting classes.

With all that has been rightfully said, I wonder if the admin has put a goal he has to achieve next year. 7 wins, 8 wins?

At this point whoever the new OC is, he will have to completely overhaul the offense even if that means big time spending for players.

Venables keeping this team fighting is why you gotta stick with the process. Get a real OC and lean on the defense until they can build the team it takes to compete in this conference.

247-97 yards at the half in favor of OU.

Now we need the D to play the 2nd half like they did the first and not like they did vs Mizzou in the 2nd half

Give both sides ( O and D ) an A+
