I would lean towards Marian Catholic as benefiting the most from the new conference. In the ESCC South division, they had to play Marist, Naz, Benet and JCA every year. While they still have some tough crossovers in Benet and Rita, their schedule is much more reasonable for their current level of competitiveness.

Sep 13 7:00 A Woodstock (Marian) 0-0 677.00
Sep 20 TBA A Westchester (St. Joseph) 0-0 355.50
Sep 28 1:30 A Lisle (Benet Academy) 0-0 2193.68
Oct 4 7:00 H Chicago (DePaul) 0-0 444.50
Oct 11 7:30 A Chicago (St. Rita) 0-0 1161.00
Oct 18 7:30 H Chicago (St. Ignatius) 0-0 1428.50
Oct 25 7:30 H Chicago (Leo) 0-0 262.00

The open date is a concern, though.

Everyone benefits. It’s just not a football conference. Think of being an independent and trying to schedule all of your sports. As far as football goes the alignment may be adjusted every couple of years. I really like seeing BR/Marist as a regular season game every year. And if district football gets overturned then the MC/SR game should be back on the schedule in one of the first couple of weeks.

It benefits the weaker (for lack of a better word) teams in the ESCC big time. They will be be in divisions now where they can face more teams on their level. They didn't have as many options in the ESCC.

It will kind of hurt Mount Carmel in 2019 because 2 years ago when they scheduled Maine South to a home/away deal, it was to add a competitive game on their schedule when they, unfortunately at the time, agreed to go to the Green Conference for two seasons. Now they have an away game with MS and add Marist, BR, and Montini to their schedule with LA.... Brutal....But I welcome it 100%. Last year after the MS and LA game it was a snooze fest of a season that included the PC forfeit. It didn't start getting fun again until the second round of the playoffs against Lake Z.

As the ESCC was in a much healthier condition, the CCL would get my vote
