We have no need for a QB that isn't going to enhance the future of the U.K. Football Program. Notice he said he wanted to come here to improve HIS draft stock.

Why bring in a kid with his baggage, when we just went through locker room problems?

Because we are in very serious jeopardy of sucking *** on offense once again.

The kid can play. He might have some baggage, but the guy is a thousand times more accomplished than is Drew Barker.

Well, in order to improve draft stock, you would have to think he played well. If he plays well, you would think our offense and team played well. It's not a hard concept.

with the reports that Hinshaw went to work evaluating juco QB's immediately and narrowed a group of 17 down to the young man visiting Jan 14th, I also agree that Kiel coming here is not happening. What a journeyman, committed to IU, then LSU, then enrolled at Notre Dame, transferred to Cincy, now looking for a final stop on his college tour?

The baggage isn't just your normal attitude stuff from what people are saying. Hope they are wrong or he is taking the steps to fix things...and I believe Hale has good sources on this.

I'm all for it. One year with Kiel who is proven and familiar with system could lay the foundation for the next guy to build on.

Can you say that you blame him in this case for trying to leave? His OC and QB coach just went to Kentucky.

Since I don't know if true, I don't want to be spreading wrong things...just heard could be dealing with some non-football problems...personal life. Could've been a reason he missed the bowl game.

highly unlikely...

especially if this Johnson kid is officially coming...

DB, Hoak, Johnson, and maybe Hughes...we got QB depth...just need to develop them...surely to god one of those guys can ball a little bit...

If for some reason Kiel does show up...then things are worse than we thought, DB is no where near ready because if he was the staff wouldn't bring in multiple guys...and Kiel will be the starter...somebody with 1 year left looking to make a push for the draft doesn't go somewhere he hasn't been assured of playing time...

I feel like he's been a bit injury prone...taken some hard licks and really been banged up...don't know if I want that instability...

Having too many qbs is never a problem. Tell him he has to compete for the position and if he still wants to come then bring him on. Bring on the JUCO kid as well and we will have a nice little competition going into the fall.

He probably has "too much baggage" to pass the Mitch Test. Doubt if he transfers to Kentucky.

I think it's a non issue. If a player is removed from his team for disciplinary reasons, and he only has one year of eligibility, you have to get a waiver from the sec commissioner for him to transfer to an sec school. With his nomad life, including LSU, I don't see that happening.

But he doesn't go to Bible study class for Mitch, which would disqualify him. It's more important that our players poop roses rather than get wins on the field.

That Dorian Baker hit at LSU was just "too mean" for a UK program I guess.

Ask yourself, "Do we want him if he only is coming here for one year to help himself." i want players who not only to help them self, but help their team.

OLD STOLL FIELD GUY!

Cincy fans said he didn't make bowl trip because drug rehab and pills were the problwm. Fwiw multiple UC fans on multiple sites have eluded to this

Not sure Kiels draft stock would improve with the issues between UKs offensive line and SEC Defensive lines.

Interesting comments from a variety of personalities who have opinions ranging from rational to absurd. At the end of the day. I seriously doubt Mr. Kiel will be joining our football program.

Once again, reports are by a source, "Absolutely NOT". Really pointless to even discuss it. Drew Barker is the QB of Kentucky for the future. Hinshaw is high on Drew.

Unless his baggage is a pipe bomb, UK is in no position to turn their noses up to any competent QB.

He's been at IU,LSU and ND before he ended up at Cincy and always transferred out because he couldn't start. He also seems to have other issues also.I would pass but that's JMO.

He's not coming. He couldn't even get his ish together to make it to the bowl game. He's unreliable. If he's so worried about his NFL career, he should get his life together instead of worrying about packing his bags and moving again. The last thing this kid needs is more change. This team and coaches don't need any more drama to deal with.

He would sit the bench behind Barker. Barker is going to come around. Wait and see.

So many seem to be ignoring our only scholarship QB has been less than impressive with his off the field decision making.

Not saying that his issues are similar to what Kiel has been going through, but it's just lunacy to act like Barker is a reliable option at this point. Add that to the reality that he hasn't shown anything on the field that warrants confidence the he is ready to be an upgrade to the mediocre QB play we've seen over the past several seasons.

Perhaps Kiel is so far gone that he can't help and I'd assume that nobody would know this answer better than Gran and Hinshaw. However, please stop anointing Barker as the no questioned starter while acting like this is a good thing. Whatever QB they add needs to be capable of being a starter next season.

To be fair those incidents happened when he was red shirting and not playing. Yes they were dumb things to do, kind of like an 17/18 year old teenager stupid stunts. I wouldn't put them in the Manziel category.

As we saw from Towles this season, it wasn't as if he had to beat out Tom Brady in order to be the starter this season, so I don't understand the "not playing" comment.

I understand that he is young, but he isn't much older and we've seen more than enough examples of college kids never quite getting it in spite of the opportunities presented to them. Curtis Pulley is a prime example in 2006.

Perhaps I'm alone in thinking that UK is serious trouble at the QB position for 2016.
