I mean its obvious theyre taking their time with him? He wants to play in the NBA and not risk coming back too early? Idk whats so funny. A typical timetable for sports is 6-12 months... He might not even play and I dont blame him
He will definitely play and before January. This is a stacked draft, he needs to prove himself or his stock could fall out of the lottery easily by years end. I’ve already given a most likely time frame for his return in previous posts.

Why would he "definitely play and before January" when that would be about 8 months after his surgery and typical ACL recovery is 9-12 months? His most likely return is January. I would be shocked if played anytime in December.

I mean, if he wasn't planning on playing, would he be doing 2 on 2 drills? Seems to me like he's doing all the things one would do to play.
To me, this is very encouraging. If he can do 2 on 2 now, he could be looking at playing by late December I would think.respe

If he plays it wont be until January
Ill be here for the last laugh @chattanogawildcat

I believe the middle of December would be 9 months if my math is right and the surgery was around the middle of March(I thought). Since all signs and reports point to him making a quicker than average recovery 9 months sounds about right.

While what you say is probably true , has anyone considered this kid might WANT to play because he is competative and wants to help his team!

Surgery was March 19th. We are past the 8 month mark already. He has progressed a ton and is younger than most who have the surgery. I’m simply stating at the 9 month mark he will be ready to go if the staff feels that’s the move. He could suit up next game, it’s just a matter of personal preference at this point. Kid is a competitor and is ready to hit the floor, at the same time he has to be smart. My point was he isn’t sitting all season, that’s a guarantee.

It is part of the rehab process.

Heard they replaced his ACL with some new synthetic carbon prosthetic. It increased his vertical by 8". He's now in the stage of acclimating his body to it's newfound capabilities.

Sharpe wasn’t even hurt. He was just here to use our facilities and Cal was good with it because he could brag about getting another kid to the NBA. As usual kid who would have been NBA bound if he hadn’t ever met Cal.
That is not true at all. Sharpe was supposed to redshirt the second semester and play the next season. That was the plan from the beginning. Then the magical transcript came that allowed him to be eligible for the draft.

Hate when facts get in the way of agendas against coaches.

I hope he is very close to 100% and full-speed when he does finally return, although he'll be rusty, for sure.
I'm going to stop reading this thread here. I am continuously surprised how little this board recognizes the rusty part. Even with a ton of talent, it takes a while to get into the flow of things. Most everyone here seems to overlook that fact.

Cal and UK knew during the season he was going to be eligible for the draft. Kyle Tucker wrote about it. Cal at worst was part of it. At best he got played. Either way you can bet he counts Sharpe when he’s telling recruits about all the NBA money his guys have earned.

When your that big and talented like JQ, he will be better then Garrison, even if he is rusty. I think Moreno is doing a great job for his first year.

Naturally anyone returning from an injury of that magnitude is going to be rusty. The board knows that. That’s a given.

Are we really going to re-litigate the Sharpe fiasco?!

Always lying. He wasn’t even believed to be old enough to enter the draft until his coach came up with an earlier graduation date and the NBA accepted it. As usual you lie because of your agenda.

I would be careful here. I don't want him to be rushed back and "Harry Giles" himself. Given the recruiting struggles, it would be bad optics to be seen as the team that ruined JQ's career.

As bad as we need him, if the timeline is 9-12 mos, don't get cute and do 8. There's enough SEC games to build a good resume if this team has the stones and the fight to do it.

Yeah because these frauds are liars and can’t be honest. He committed in November of 2021 and the plan was always for him to enroll in the spring semester and to redshirt. At the time he was thought to be ineligible for the 2022 draft because he hadn’t graduated in May and was actually playing high school basketball in October of 2021 and even played in a tournament in Las Vegas. There weren’t talks of him being eligible for the draft until January when he was already on campus. I guess Cal was supposed to put a gun to his head and make him play even though the plan was for him to redshirt.

Cal was a part of it? Dude can’t even make his lies make sense. Specifically how was Cal a part of it?

No. 1 men's basketball prospect Shaedon Sharpe to enroll early with Kentucky Wildcats, won't play until 2022-23 season

No. 1 overall prospect Shaedon Sharpe will be arriving at Kentucky earlier than expected -- but he still won't play for the Wildcats until next season.
Sharpe plans to graduate from high school early and enroll at Kentucky after the fall semester. He will work out and practice with the Wildcats, but won't play in games and will take a redshirt year. He plans to suit up for games during the 2022-23 season.
It's not an unfamiliar path for John Calipari's program, as Hamidou Diallo enrolled at Kentucky in January 2017 before sitting out the rest of the season and playing in 2017-18.

Never faulted Cal for this one. An example of damned if you, damned if you don’t. Before that TyTy injury we looked like the best team in the country. If we played Sharpe and it went south people would’ve been mad over that as well. For some things, it’s option A angry, option B angry.

Take it from a guy who lives closer to Lexington and not in Chatty.

Or why not wait til next season when its not as stacked of a draft class and get drafted higher? THINK
