Frustrating. Pope has to get more talent. If Yates picks Washington, you really have to question his desire to win.
Get that, absolutely, though Pope's team's thrive with versatile players, not plodders and one dimensional type of guys, he just also had ACL surgery five days ago, we haven't had luck in these scenarios.Do not need his FT 3PT

He should already be with us in last season if he was smart enough...He was once a cat. And we wanted him. Maybe wants to still be a cat. Now that the dust has settled. I think he is a perfect replacement for amari. He can do good things. AZ st was way better with him, than without. Sign him up.
AgreedHe should already be with us in last season if he was smart enough...
But that’s not what I would consider gigantic.JQ seems solid 6-10
He looks pretty big on the court
So Washington is going to be contending next year?Come on. You’re better than that.

Who is the Croatian?Get JQ and the Croatian and were stout.
Washington won't win **** next year just like they didn't win with Fultz, Mc Daniels, Stewart, and Osobor. So Washington is going to be contending next year?
Poor shooting though. He didn’t pass and rebound as well as Amari last year, but he was leaps and bounds better around the rim.
Lowe
Johnson
Oweh
Dioubate
JQ
That would be an insanely fast lineup.
We need to add another shooterPoor shooting though.

Yeah, I think we have been slow rolling Alvaro because PF is the biggest hole and fewest options in the portal at this point. It does seem crazy how long it's taken unless there is some reason I am not aware of.
Trilly said just earlier today that he thought we had Alvaro "on ice"
I would be cool with the staff telling a guy "good luck" if he said was down between teams like us and LSU/UW/NCState.If Yates picks Washington, you really have to question his desire to win.
People return from ACL injuries all the time. Our own guy Derek Anderson tore an ACL at Ohio State. He helped us win the 1996 national title.I really wish we'd go another direction. Huge risk on him playing an entire season, if any at all.
Well if he commits it certainly doesHopefully getting him doesn’t deter Alvaro.

JQ is going to want to show scouts that he can play. This isn't like the Sharpe situation at all, where all Sharpe had to do was not play in order to protect his stock. JQ currently doesn't have any first round stock.
He'll be back on the court this Fall/early winter, and when he does, whatever team decided to take the gamble and sign him will be getting a guy with real top 5 pick potential.
There's no one else in the portal who comes remotely close to that.
That is definitely best case scenario. Even then we'll have non shooters on the floor with him unless we fix that.
Hes an exceptional talent. Its just a weird fit and a big risk.
Thing is, if he doesn't have first round stock, how does he have grounds to demand top dollar in a contract? He's good, but the staff would be taking a risk on him in addition to possibly missing out on Alvaro (conjecture, but seems like a crowded frontcourt). The other point i should've made is his price tag will probably mean we're done adding impact guys. Maybe theyre just shifting aments money to jq but even then it will still put a massive dent in our funds.

For me, it's not that he'll never recover. I'm concerned that he won't be able to practice and he'll need a ton of conditioning to get up to speed, which will not all happen before he's cleared for contact in September. Those acting like recovering from an ACL today is the same as it was 25 years ago. Its Not. You can comeback in 6 months sometimes with proper rehab resources.
Then if Alvaro doesn't come go get the CroatianWe would be out on Alvaro if JQ commits I would imagine, don't see a world in which we get both.
I personally would rather have Alvaro but I won't be mad about a lottery pick with great rim protection.

Will he be able to run sets, cut to the basket, practice the offense and defense, run his butt off, and all that to be worth the price tag next year?
Maybe he can put up a ton of shots and fix that FT and 3pt %.
He will be looking to prove to scouts that he is over his injury! Imo we are a team that can be patient with him on his return, and play him 10-15 minutes the first month or so, depending how his knee responds. Then come February March it goes up to 20-25 minutes! Exactly what we need! A 6'10" quick explosive rebounder/cleanup guy around the rim! One of the things that went unnoticed this year was amari FT shooting improvement over the course of the year! I believe Pope will get him up to the mid 60% by February!People return from ACL injuries all the time. Our own guy Derek Anderson tore an ACL at Ohio State. He helped us win the 1996 national title.
