I tried to take this stance on certain companies due to their political or social cause they were supporting/promoting and it became impossible.

I knew what you meant, but the price part is true too. My best friend is a contractor in Paducah. In the past 20+ years he's built some of the biggest, nicest houses in the area. These include the 24,000 sq ft hovel of a former state representative (whose father built I-24), his younger brother's 23,000 sq ft shack in Calvert City, and numerous 10,000+ sq ft houses of local physicians and businessmen. In short, the dude knows his stuff.

The roofer my friend uses for the really big stuff is the guy who put the roof on Schnatter's house and, according to him, it was $250 K. He said it was a cut-up monstrosity and, like I mentioned earlier, he used real slate. Schnatte also put in an underground garage to house his car collection.
