Nice stats. But didn’t I see Pheldarius Payne out there for a few plays too?Northwestern ran 66 plays against Nebraska. Damion Daniels was in on 24 snaps, Jordon Riley for 8. The entire DL, according to Pro Football Focus:
That's a total of 144, or (144/66 plays), or an average of 2.2 interior DL per play, meaning, as @headcard noted, we were running a lot of alignments with four down "linemen" (the 4-2-5 with Domann as the nickel) but with at least one and often two of them being nominal linebackers such as Tannor, Nelson and Payne.
- Stille 37
- Thomas 33
- Robinson 29
- Daniels 24
- Rogers 13
- Riley 8
I wrote "Payne" in the list of linebackers with their hands on the ground. So, yes, you did!Nice stats. But didn’t I see Pheldarius Payne out there for a few plays too?
Payne is now a nice piece as he was a DE but shifted to OLB after losing weight. Along with Nelson they can run a lot of combos.I wrote "Payne" in the list of linebackers with their hands on the ground. So, yes, you did!
