It sounds like it's all the whim of the committee and whether they think 13-17 in league play DQs the Cats. Everything else says the Cats should be in.

If the NCAA rewarded SEC Softball with allowing all 14 teams into the field (and it was justified) then SEC Baseball should get 10-12 teams in the field. An argument could easily be made the only two SEC teams that shouldn't make it are Alabama and Tennessee. If the NCAA standard is a team must have a winning conference record then only 6 SEC teams will get in the field unless you count wins from SEC tourney.

You can't compare the level of competition in the SEC with the other conferences. Kentucky has a higher RPI than Louisville, Purdue, UCLA, Oklahoma & Ohio St (not to mention SEC schools Vandy, SC and Missouri). Indiana (who we beat) has only a slightly better RPI.

I agree. You only evaluate each conference individually. The SEC is the toughest conference in all of college baseball. Therefore, not only should UK be in the field, UK should easily be in the field. I think 12 of the 14 teams from the SEC should be in the field.

Ala & UT...two teams that keep us from being locked in and probably hosting.

SEC is ridiculously good in baseball, softball, football, women's basketball. Nit-Picking Department: Vandy doesn't have softball so there are 13. Only one doesn't make the SEC tournament, ironically this year it was the host team, Mizzou.
