I saw a good debate between Coulter and Rivera on immigration. Coulter raised an interesting point I had not considered. Racial set-asides, affirmative action and other laws have been passed to make amends for slavery and Jim Crow laws. Why do non African Americans get to benefit from these laws?

I bet the words "I saw a good debate between Coulter and Rivera" have never been written before.

Ignore the debate, why should non African Americans benefit from affirmative action style - laws along with set-asides?

Why shouldn't they? They are minority/women set asides, not just black set asides. Your premise is flawed re: slavery/jim crow.

It is absolutely not flawed. Reverse discrimination is legal due to our past history of racism. But why should new immigrants qualify for these set asides? We already have anti discrimination laws on the books.

We should be at a point where no one is discriminated against...no matter what sex, color, etc. But try and remove those protected classes and see what happens.

Are you a white supremacist? You and some others (3:16) on here are always complaining about minorities getting special treatment and how whitey is getting short shrift at the hands of various minority groups.

When liberals can't debate facts, they just want to slander. If you can't answer why immigrants get set asides, that's fine but debate the merits and stop the BS racists sutff.

Based on your opening post, you should research as to why the program(s) were created. Getting your info from a tabloid journalist and an attention ***** nitwit is not good.

I did research on SCOTUS arguments supporting affirmative action and it is for actions in the PAST. It is a remedy for past discrimination. Why should it apply to new immigrants?

I come across those programs REGULARLY and they simply are a feel good waste of money. It's shameful the amount of lawless abuse that exists in the disabled vet set-asides, where our local VA has spent tens of millions in new projects only to have the vast bulk of that money leave the state.

If Democrats truly want to assist minority businesses, don't waste time and money on set-asides (8a's, Disabled Vet, Minority, Women), assist by providing better access to capital and lessening of regulations that many new start-ups struggle dealing with.
