Question for the "Fire Stoops" club

Since you want Stoops fired, who do you hire as head coach?

Keep in mind that for the history of UK Football we've never been able to lure away another D1 school's head coach, which means you'll have to hire another coordinator and deal with the same bone headed mistakes decisions that you want to fire Stoops over. Also keep in mind that most other hotshot coordinators wouldn't come to UK.

Jesus man, how many threads are you going to start?

Jeff Brohm would absolutely kill it here with his offensive mind and our offensive talent. His salary is 600,000 as a HC to Dawson getting paid 500,000 as OC so he is a very realistic and very logical hire that needs to be made.

Honest question. Let's say Brohm were to come to UK. What happens when Petrino leaves UL. Who do you think Brohm will be coaching when UL opens up?? Not UK....I can assure you of that.

Why would anyone want Petrino this time around? He hasn't shown much to warrant an upgrade from his current job and I doubt that they will fire him any time soon

He can coach - my guess is that if he ever takes UL to ACC championship he will be on a lot of schools' radar.

I mean UL took him back after not only what he did at ARKY, but what he also did to the Falcons and UL the first time around.

He's a jerk, but the dude can coach. And he will retire someday as well.

Frank Solich
Greg Schiano
Lane Kiffin (no, I'm not kidding)

Someone who has real HFBC experience, understands clock and game management with an emphasis on special teams would be a nice start.

The cupboard is neither bereft of talent nor do our facilities suck... Finding a replacement shouldn't be as difficult as post Morriss or Joker.

You gotta win. Stoops **** the bed. EKU was a harbinger of a program driven off the rails.

Did you watch the first quarter of the WKU/Southern Miss game? WKU had many of the same problems
that UK had this year, before finally pulling away. Don't think that Brohm would be a bit better, honestly.

Lane Kiffin wouldn't take this job, his moto is to take a job where you have a chance to win and win big immediately.

Greg Schiano is your best bet.

I watched every snap. I also saw them overcome their mistakes, make adjustments and end up winning 45-28 with 521 yards (410 passing), only gave up 340 yards and forced 4 turnovers. If we played WKU, Brohm would put up 500 yards against us.

Wondering how Brohm would scheme for an OLine that couldn't block. A QB that's completes 30% of his passes, and WRs who drop the ball. If he can scheme around that then he'll go down as the best offensive mind who ever lived. Did you see what the best offense in the nation (Baylor) looked like once they had an inaccurate passer at QB?

Geez this new coach is going to have to turn water into wine for you guys....lol

Inaccurate passer? They had a WR playing QB....

And yes, Brohm would scheme around that. That's what great coaches do. They scheme to their strengths and away from their weaknesses.

I know they had a WR at QB and he looked like our QBs over the last 2 years. The point was nobody can scheme anything without an adaquet QB.

And...

Petrino is a great offensive mind. He couldn't do it this season without a freak talent like Jackson. So I guess Brohm is better than Petrino in your eyes.

If we change coaches every three years, we'll never get anywhere, we need to, have players as good as our starters, if we are to
compete in the SEC. we start out good then we lose a couple players off the D/line or O/line or R/B. then we play with ovc players.
We need 2 more years of recruiting like we have the last two years, to compete in the SEC.

I have probably appeared to be in the fire Stoops crowd, but it just isn't feasible. Too soon and too expensive. I do believe he will be a lame duck for 1-2 seasons of very mediocre football and will then be replaced in a mutual decision.

You say "fire Stoops club" like it's a small portion of the fanbase that wants him gone lol. Hate to tell ya bud, but you're in the distinct minority. 90% of the fanbase wants him gone, you just happen to be in the vocal minority (most of whom post on this board and love "their coach" even if he loses every single game).

Nobody on here is responsible for hiring a UK football coach. Any names put forth will be immediately criticized as 'he will never come here', 'he lost to X', 'he's a jerk', 'his style of play sucks', etc.

Given the past, the idea in the future of giving this job to a 1st time head coach/coordinator is doomed to failure. Following the model of a Jerry Claiborne or a Rich Brooks is the path to success at UK. An older 50+ year old who has not only been a head coach but was somewhat responsible for building up a downtrodden program.

Pretty strong statement there jnewc2. I think it much more accurate to say "90% of the fan base is disappointed in progress to date and many will likely have a "show me" attitude for 2016".

What have you seen from Stoops to make you think things will improve? Other teams have added experienced coaches. Does uk have and identity? do we do anything different in terms of style or schemes to separate ourselves From rest of tough SEC ? Have we improved in any statistical categories in the SEC we are about last in many categories.

Just an FYI, it is in Brohm's contract that he can't go to a school in the state of Kentucky for 2 years after WKU.

I also doubt he would ever coach for Tommy Turtleneck. I know he loves UL, but he's not a fan of TT.
