Question on security

Recently, we've seen a lot of threads with links. Most are of interest, and probably benign. But there seem to be more that aren't about high school athletics and may be malicious. Some are political and simply obnoxious.
I know that clicking on links or attachments usually carries a risk. But I'm becoming wary of clicking on any of them to better ensure my computer's security.

Am I being paranoid, or does NC Preps and Rivals insulate readers in any way?

I delete them as soon as I see them or called to my attention. But I will have to defer an answer to Ms. Deana on this subject.

I don't click on the obvious ones. But there are a lot of them.
