I would think if Frost can’t get it done, no one ever will...It should have been more competitive, but you could also sense a one sided game before it started. Turnovers and penalties are something this team just can't seem to shake, and Ohio State certainly doesn't need the help.
Also, the defense has been given many dire situations by the offense, but they can't stop teams from scoring after turnovers, just like last week, they just let the opposition go right down the field and score. It would be nice if they could keep them out of the end zone half the time.
I think by the end of the 2022 season we'll have a good gauge on whether
Frost is the man for the job, if he's in the B1G title game in 2021 or 2022 (and that will be hard to get there) then I'd say he's making progress. If by year five he's not there and still middling around with no championship game in sight, then it would be hard to say he's going to get it done.
By 2022's end, he better be like Mayor Goldie Wilson with progress as his middle name!

Post of the night. Exactly...Have to ride out some **** years, but we have to let Frost work. Stability and (hopefully) improved recruiting will help.

It is not acceptable and it was not unexpected unless you live on kool aid.
The only real question is, do you think Frost thinks it is acceptable? Not 100% sure, but I think Frost hates losing more than anyone in Husker nation...

What? We should have just kept Pelini if that's the case. I don't care how good our competition around us is, if we can't win a Big Ten West title by 2021 then we need to start looking for another coach.
Nebraska might get there by then, but it will be one hard road travel, and by the end of 2022, the fifth of his tenure, it will give us a real good indicator of his being around or gone. I think there's enough talent to get to the B1G by 2021, can this coaching staff deliver them there?

I'm sure the goal was to win it sooner, but the facts show that talent and coaching wise, Nebraska is just a middle of the pack B1G team, and I don't see that changing for a few more years, and that sucks to say it.You are saying exactly what has been said for every coaching staff since Solich. This is why we have Frost. He was given a record salary at NU for a reason. I don't think winning a Big Ten West title by year 5 was the goal.
Not the vibe I got from him in the presser. The only real question is, do you think Frost thinks it is acceptable? Not 100% sure, but I think Frost hates losing more than anyone in Husker nation...
The first half was beyond expected. Cmon.It is not acceptable and it was not unexpected unless you live on kool aid.
The kind of football Frost was around as a player would work just as effectively today as it did back then. When Frost truly decides on physicality over finesse (so many teams run what Nebraska does) and gravitates towards play like Ohio State, Wisconsin, then I believe we'll see better football.
Now, I doubt things will move towards the kind of football I mentioned, so the next best thing is to match talent and coaching with talent and coaching, a good start will be finding a way to beat Northwestern.
Ground and pound football is the only recipe that will work for this program. Get away from the Oregon football model and get back to your roots. If Frost is not smart enough to figure this out then get someone who does.
I've posted these thoughts before and I'll repeat them again, I believe Nebraska football now is where Nebraska football should have always been, a decent program that wins about 7 to 9 games a year but not much more than that.
You wonder why programs such as Ucla, Illinois, Texas A&M (Aggies are good, but never get close to the big prize) Houston, Arizona or Arizona State, and others never really make much noise but Nebraska for over 4 decades did.
Truth be told, and we all know it, Nebraska had two stratosphere coaches in Devaney and Osborne, and they were one of those phenomenon that happen in a rare kind of manner, and until those kinds of coaches show up in Lincoln again, Nebraska will be just another program scratching for 7, 8, 9 wins a year.
Nebraska wasn't really anything special, but for a few years in the 1920's before Devaney arrived, and for a few years under Solich in 1999-2001 after Osborne left, so the natural order of college football has placed Nebraska back into the nothing special category, a place that seems to be its destiny for the foreseeable future.
I don't know if Frost can become like those two, he's going to have to make some tough decisions about his staff, maybe not this year, but if next year follows a similar pattern, he will have to do something or risk losing his job down the line.
Michigan lacks just about every year what Ohio State, Bama, Clemson, OU and a few other teams have, an ultra dynamic quarterback. If they had what those teams have year in and out, they'd be doing pretty well. Just my opinion, but since Jim's been there, they haven't had anyone close to what the teams mention have at that position.Michigan hasn't been able to make the "physical" style work and they are able to recruit better talent than Nebraska every year. How do you think Nebraska is going to make it work when Michigan can't?
Nebraska is 1-0 in the West. Ultimately, that is the most important stat. 1-1 in the Big Ten. Control their own future.Usually teams recover from a blow out faster than losing a really close game, one positive Nebraska didn’t quit, if Riley was the coach they’d have gave up start of the second quarter. Right now Nebraska needs to concentrate on winning the games that they have the same talent. What if we would have won last night then tank the next 4. That’s how bill snyder build kst win the games your supposed to the work on upsetting the big boys. It takes baby steps but that’s the way to build this program. To many people want instant results and to many of us read and believe the puff up from the local media.
That's BS and the fanbase needs to stop thinking this way. If Frost can't get it done here, we'll find someone who will. Frost is lucky to be here and have the support he does.I would think if Frost can’t get it done, no one ever will...

I'm very disappointed in how these first 2 years have gone so far. That being said, I still think Frost is our best long term option to get things turned around. He's a very smart guy and I think he can be a great coach. He needs to learn a lot and make some tough decisions in order for that to happen though.
I'm classified as old on here dtit depends. Is this acceptable? I wish someone would tell us.
