I have never figured out how to do these from my phone app, but when you are on the computer, click on the Envelope in the top right corner of your screen.

Once open, click the big button that says "Start a New Conversation." In the "Participants" block, you type in the screen name of the person you want to message. Don't have to put the "@" sign in front of the name.

I do not get that option. When I click on the envelope all I get it is "You have no recent conversations" and a line that says "No recent conversations"

I may have it as a subscriber. If you are a subscriber, not sure why you can't start new conversation. I will start one with you to see if that works.

I went through this recently, and actually had Edgy helping me. Much to his surprise and mine, if you are not a paid subscriber, you cannot PMor post pics.
His IT guy enlightened us!
