Hey CrossBones since I am in Ohio I can’t see East play live. I want to know how this defense stacks up with the other great defenses of past East teams. 2005 was considered one of the best defensive lines in Illinois. They controlled the line of scrimmage. The thing was it didn’t stop their our LB’s & DB’s we’re also excellent with the O’lufsen brothers, Swaim & Lynch and the DB averaging 6’2 Maul, Grosshider & Geary. After seeing this years team shut out Bolingbrook i wonder is this defense as good or better? Or is the level of competition not quite there? Its hard to argue with how this years team is dominating the opponent. We know the offense this year appears to be one of the best East has ever had. Give me your insight because I know you see a lot of games and you call it like you see it.
We know defense wins championships so I value your opinion.
Thanks

Hard to say. Our offense is extremely one dimensional with below average play calling. HF doesn't have the weapons HF typically does this year so the 6 and 0 points can be misleading. I would say that the only score than gives us any insight is the Naperville Central score.

I honestly would have to put the 2017 defense over this one because they played better teams and held them down without the luxury of a lights out offense. I would probably put 2015 defense over this year too. All 3 superb, but I think the difference is in the size and physicality.

Thanks Bones. I think the Naperville Central game is even tough to gauge because it was only the 2nd game of the season. I agree about size and Physicality.
